I've had one for six years. Works great. I use it mostly for grinding knife blades. I chose the green one without the disc on the side because they both have the same motor inside, but without having to turn the disc the belt gets a bit more power.

I consider them consumable because the faces tend to get chewed up, but I've never seen one split like that.
