Well guess what folks? Its a real analyzer, cabinet and all! They added the Sun tack and dwell module plus the lower left panel, but the rest seems to be the Clayton 1949 C-41!

I found an interesting picture- I'm thinking now that the unit was originally a Clayton Dynamometer like the one below with the Sun module slapped on in the middle (accounting for the 'crowded' look of the face). On the lower cabinet of the unit in the picture is the name plate that is at the...

I identified the two large rectangular gauges at the top. They are Clayton brand Dynamometer SPEED and HORSE POWER gauges. I found one of them for sale on ebay, but I need another one!

Marc, You sound like you are in my brain! Correct on all points! We start with shooting for 'exact', but will compromise when time and money dictate. At some point you have to 'fish or cut bait' and just get it done- as you say, a very small percentage of people will ever know the...

I think you are correct- PICT0170Medium by mommydawn2000, on Flickr Now I'm leaning toward 'built prop' for sure. Just need to source the other gauges. Perhaps that lower left panel is from another analyzer. M

Keep in mind, that typically those sort of large brand names would be removed or blocked out for use on TV. Also, that small rectangle at the top middle did indeed have a name on it- the top of it says 'syncrometer' or 'stratometer' or some such, and the bottom was blacked out (probably the...

Yes he is- he's the real deal. This is actually for his store in Sperryville- actually for the new store that is replacing the Sperryville location. Mark

No worries Marc! Yes, this is a screenshot from the show. I am recreating props from the show for Ben Jones himself- for one of his 'Cooter's Place' attractions. I will either have to find or build one of these (as a non-working prop), so I am of course interested in anything that will help...

Excellent point! In fact (long story short), the information I seek is for Cooter himself. We are trying to recreate some key props from the show. Its equally possible this was a studio-built prop OR a real analyzer, but I have a feeling it was real. There is a nameplate on it that says...

I'm hoping someone hear can give me a clue about this one- it looks like a very early SUN or some other more generic brand of analyzer. Any info anyone can offer is much appreciated! Mark ID analzer by mommydawn2000, on Flickr
