    Air vs electric

It seems to me like a lot of garages I see use air tools over electric, and I was curious as to what advantage there is in it. They use air impacts, grinders, die grinders, shears. Is there any advantage to air over electric? Or is it just that you usually have air hoses out anyway so there's no...

Mono Slab Cracks- 1.5 weeks old

I have done residential walls, footings and slabs for years, and we do #4 rebar every two feet in both walls and slabs. 5 feet is way too far apart for the tensile strength of rebar to do much good. Better than nothing, yes, but not correct Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

Forget them all Bill. Let the naysayers go and naysay elsewhere. Do not take it upon yourself to pass judgement. That is not your place, and if you feel the need to do it, bite your tongue please. Bill, keep up the good work. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

    Best way to cut steel?

DeWalt 6 inch grinder with Walter cut off disks. 6 inch spins at 9000 rpms, while the 4 1/2 inch spins at 12000. 6 inch is much less likely to blow up a cut off wheel in your face. I use a DeWalt PortaBand for angle, channel, and tubing, and the grinder for plate. PortaBand makes less noise...

    Mill

I live in southwest Missouri. I've looked all over at auctions, Craigslist, Facebook, anywhere I can think of and can't seem to find one anywhere. And another rant. Does anyone remember when eBay used to actually have used items, and wasn't just 90% vendors? Talk about frustrating. But I have...

    Mill

Hey guys I've been interested in getting into milling for a while, but I don't have access to one to even try it out and see if I will like it. Has anyone been able to use the Harbor Freight Mini Mill? I don't want to drop a bunch of money on one I might not keep, and wanna start small. Can...

    Toolbox

Just picked this up courtesy of Craigslist for 40 bucks. No lock, looks like holders for a pipe or dowel rod to keep drawers shut riveted to the front, and small rough spot on the top. But all drawers slide smooth. 41 inch length. I know nothing about these boxes but I figured for 40 bucks it...
