I haven't lost much either over the years. I did lose my 2 foot Starrett scale (rule) 25 or 30 years ago. Still miss it. I believe I left it in a locker when I moved out at completion of a project. By the time I needed it and noticed it missing, the locker was long gone.

So many choices that are good these days. Hard to recommend. But, right now there are a few 2 piece brushed m12 Milwaukee kits with a couple batteries and a charger on sale at Home Depot for right around $100. Certainly worth a look.
