Tool box recommendations for future A&P mechanic

As a retired AMT (CAL / UAL in EWR) most of what were seen were standard Craftsman boxes with a few large SO boxes thrown in. This was out on the line, not in the hangar. In the hangar, it’s probably a different story. If it were me, I would hold off on expensive tools / boxes until I was out of...

    Colorado 3 Car Attached Garage

Hi all I've basically finished my 3 car garage. I moved into the new build house in June, 2018.The outside walls were unfinished, open to the studs. I had new electrical outlets installed, additional lighting, 240v for a Mini-Split HVAC, and an additional 240v line run for future use. I also had...

    240v Receptacles

Thanks guys for all the info. As was stated in the replies, I guess that I will wait until I decide what compressor I will get in order to determine what what receptacle to use or to hard wire it. The walls & ceiling are getting painted starting on Monday & the floor coating will probably go...

    240v Receptacles

Hi Guys, I am in the process of finishing off my attached 3 car garage. When the electrician was here doing the rough-in, I had him run a 240v line for a 240v outlet in the garage (in addition to additional 120v outlets & lighting). He was adding 240v circuits anyways for a Mini-Split HVAC in...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

The problem with that software is that it is a Windows only product & "I don't do Windowz". I am on the Mac platform (& have been an Apple user ever since my Apple //e in the mid 1980's) Mark

    Malibu Outside Lighting Questions

Is Malibu still around? I had to replace some Malibu light fixtures that I put in several years ago. I couldn't find their web site any longer & Home Depot (where I originally bought the fixtures) no longer carries them. I was able to find the fixtures on Amazon.

Tool chest review - Sears, Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot, Harbor Freight

Hi all, Is there a similar thread to this one reviewing tool cabinets (fixed position, not rollaways/tool chests) & work benches? I'm having a house built in CO that has an attached 3 car garage. Two of the garage bays will be used for my 2 cars, but the 3rd I would like to set up a small...

School Me,,, Whats the difference between a 6 pt.

A lot of bolt heads on aircraft have 12 point heads, so all of my sockets from work are 12 point. Regarding the Phillips / Reed & Prince screwdrivers, how about a Tri-Wing screw head??? Used to really curse those things, especially on the Airbus A-300's.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Denver MCM garage expansion

Hi, I'm having a new build house being built in Windsor, CO & have been looking through your thread. Signed the Purchase Agreement in late December & they are saying 6 - 8 months build time, so that would put move in sometime around June / August, hopefully. Who did the coating on the garage...

I am just about to pull the trigger on a new build single level home in Windsor, CO that has a 3 Car garage. The garage will be 28' 8" wide x 23' 8" deep, with either 9' or 10' ceilings (I'm waiting for clarification on ceiling height). I'm looking for some ideas on what to prewire for. Two of...

Quartz Counter top / Wood Drawer Support

Hi Guys, I've just had a new Quartz Countertop installed in my bathroom. I'd like to reinstall two side by side drawers that spanned the space between the two base cabinets (which were not changed out - original to the house from 1955). There is a drawer support made up of 2 pieces of plywood...

    Little garage from Italy

Gabriele, I have recently joined Garage Journal & just found your thread. I love the pictures of your part of Italy & have no problem with understanding your English. I think that it is probably better than my French when I try writing to my mother's family up in Normandy. iTranslate does help a...
