One thing that is out of sight so out of mind was the outer walls were uninsulated...the side I replaced the board and batten with Hardy board is insulated. This is the biggest outside wall and made a bug difference. Been following this thread and others mentioned this.

Quick run thru the ultrasonic cleaner with Evaporust then a hand polish with Maas. Going call it good enough to fight the Third Reich.

Thanks Don I think they are cad plated and will treat them as such. Also won't put them in Evaporust as it's supposed to remove it

You can see these sockets still have gray tone to them...how can determine whether they are chrome plated or wartime cad plated sockets? They are is good shape so I think light cleaning and buff should get them close to an sold look.

7/8" socket that was in a toolbox buy from Facebook marketplace. Still needs a bit of clean up.

Post clean in ultrasonic and quick run across the wire wheel...cleaned up with hardened crud, paint and surface rust knocked off. Edit: Forgot ask think these are chromed or not. They are a dark gray and wondering they might be wartime or just needs a polish?
