    Official Icon Tools Thread

I didn't find a thread just for Icon tools and figured they should have their own. Seems like there is a growing following and for good reason, most of their tools seem to be above average quality. I picked up a 1/2" and 3/8" digital torque wrenche, took advantage of the recent 30% off. I...

    Dewalt 20V Battery Problems?

I had one 5ah pack go bad, I left it in an adapter that caused it to fully discharge & could not recover it. Other than that between home & work I probably have 50 plus packs with some being 8 plus years old. It seems like fully draing the pack usually kills it.

Do you provide food/drinks to a work crew?

I never hire out, but I just had some big trees that were close to the house, needed to get them down. Local tree guy took 30 trees with a crane and climber, guys kicked ***. Provided water, they wouldn't let me but them lunch, so I gave each guy a 100$ tip. I ended up giving the owner some...

    Should I get a plasma cutter/will I use it

I've found they are great for demo work, also where having stored tanks is a problem. We can demo large boilers in place without oxy/act tanks which can't be stored in the building. Plus I uses the buildings power so that saves some$$$. In the field or the shop i use them alot, just size it...

    Milling Dutch Lap Siding

So close, got the machine assembled & plugged in, placed on a mobile base from vevor. The base looked good, good reviews but it's getting replaced asap. Some vevor stuff has been great, but this base is just awkward, oversized tubing, wheels placed to far out, like it was AI designed.

I don't know if this matters

You're expecting a cut made by lowes to be square & true? If you're painting it just caulk the joint first.

    Similar tool storage

I try to keep like with like, plumbing takes up a lot storage, carpentry same thing and so on. I have found, at least for me it's easier to store tools and equipment by discipline, even if it means doubles or triples of some stuff.

This is for mounting your sander, maybe try some spray on bed liner, durable and will hide imperfections.
