That's a great way to put a scroll saw to use. My first project is going to be cutting out some wooden dinosaurs for my two younger kids. Some larger ones for the walls in their room and some smaller ones to play with.

Sorry for the late follow up, guys. Thanks for all the input. Just came home with the saw! It is a type 1 made in Canada so I guess that makes it Excalibur-made. Ran smoothly when we tested it but I'll let you know if I run into any issues after I try it out more thoroughly.

I'm looking for a large, quality blast cabinet. Other than TP tools, Cyclone looks pretty good..anyone have one of their larger cabinets? I was looking at the 4800 in particular but interested in any input from people who have use their cabinets. Thanks.

Probably is. After doing a little research it looks like the vacuum may have been modified by the owner to give it that clear front. It's clearly the old DC 176 discontinued about 10 years ago which never had a clear front.

Right but the 300 CFM vacuum is a $900 upgrade. Also has a regulator which doesn't come with new skat blast cabinets.

I have the opportunity to buy this skat blast 979 supercab. I have only seen pictures but looks like it's in very good shape and comes with a premium vacuum. Curious what folks on this forum would offer for this setup?

Definitely a better option if space is limited. The Dayton blast cabinet is massive. Due to the clamshell design, it has some structural support behind the cabinet that takes some space.

Thanks for the replies guys. I won't get to fire it up until next weekend but I'll post my thoughts after that. I'll probably also calculate the CFM that it produces. This model should produce 13 CFM but that's often overstated.
