    Craftsman block grinder

Picked this up today from an auction. Looks and runs like it was used maybe once or twice. Can't wait to grind some metal with it. Needed someone to share my excitement with. Wife was not impressed. :)

Fair price for these tool boxes?

Good point about the color. I did look around online and the older boxes seemed somewhat orange so didn't think much of it but couldn't hurt to ask him.

Fair price for these tool boxes?

Thanks again, All. They look like good boxes but I was concerned that maybe Mac tool box quality declined when the stopped making the older version with the chrome handles on the drawers. Sounds like this newer style is still good. I'll offer the guy $200 for 'em.

Fair price for these tool boxes?

Thanks, guys. I was thinking the same. Not sure of the age but they don't have the handles of the older Mac tool boxes so I'm thinking 80s. Does that sound about right for the age?

Fair price for these tool boxes?

Folks, assuming these boxes have no rust, no missing parts (except keys?), What do you think a fair price would be for them? Anyone have these boxes that can speak to the quality?

    Columbian Vise - Age?

Thanks for the great info, guys. Fierljeppen, thank you for the very logical estimate of the year it was made. Your knowledge of Columbian vises is really impressive. A couple more questions and then I promise I'll leave you guys alone until after Christmas. What does the "M" mean? There's...

    Columbian Vise - Age?

Vise Guys, Can anyone tell me how old this 503 vise likely is? Clearly it was manufactured when "hardware" was still in the Columbian name so at least as far back as the mid 1920s. Thanks for your help!

All, Thanks for the great comments and advice. I think I'll pass on the Unisaw Jr and look for something else based on the advice in this thread.

That's a fair point. I only have one 115v circuit in my garage. What cabinet saw would you recommend?

Delta unisaw junior -- anyone use one?

There's a Delta Rockwell unisaw Junior on Craigslist for $550. It's fully restored and looks pretty good. Anyone use one of these saws before? If so, what do you think? Good saw? Good price? I'm in the market for a table saw. I just need one for occasional hobby woodworking.

    Vintage Reed Vice pickup.

I have olive green paint on a similar period Reed Vise that I plan on fixing up and it is lead based paint. I tested it with a 3M lead tester. Electrolysis will likely remove the paint and contaminate your tank. Use a chemical paint stripper and don't sand or wire wheel it.

    Early Truck Box??

All, I need some help identifying an unusual toolbox. I think it's an early truck box but not sure. What I can tell you that may or may not be obvious from the pics: -it's about 5 ft long - it has no visible makers mark or badging, although not sure what's under the many layers of paint on it...
