VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

I couldnt find it when searching. I just got it. For future reference for Wilton Vises (might help ppl search): I did follow the youtube video above, and pushed the two pins to meet in the middle. This allowed me to knock the nut off with the end of the body (not the dust cap, but the end of...

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Update from above post - the nut came out like in the above video, but no idea how to get the nut out from the end of the body that came with it. Any ideas would be helpful.

VISE REPAIR 101 all vise repairs, lubricants, sources for parts and the tricks to fix

Any opinions on the best course of action with my Wilton? I guess I should have done more research on ways to remove these pins - After looking at my vise I was skeptical the pins lined up well enough to drive them out through the hole on the other side as I'd seen others do when researching...

Craftsman 5198. Who made these awesome vises!!

If anyone ever has a 5195 or 5196 they want to get rid of I'd love to buy one. I have been looking at my local CL for the past 3-4 yrs and none have ever popped up. I have zero issue paying a fair price or even somewhat of a premium at this point, being I havent found one locally yet - I just...

Craftsman 5198. Who made these awesome vises!!

Is one of your 5191's for sale on ebay right now? The one on ebay matches one in your pic very closely. EDIT: On second look, I doubt it. The ebay one has somewhat beat up jaws, and yours are all in fantastic condition.

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

FWIW - I do realize these are solid jacks and dont let my experience deter you, but just to update the thread: My replacement jack is now having issues as well, and isn't lifting at the top of its stroke (top of pumping motion when lifting), and wont lift all the way to top of its range with...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

The manager was really cool and ended up taking it back, even though I got nowhere when I originally called a couple of times. I think it helped it was a really busy day and I let him take 30+ mins to help me, haha... that plus its literally impossible I bought the jack over 3 yrs ago, it wasnt...

    Disappointed in GearWrench

Tekton Star / Allen head / E torx set - 2 different stars bent on the first uses. I returned it and the GW I bought is 100x nicer. Tekton chrome and impact sockets. One had a ratchet included. I returned all of it. The impacts werent that nice, Sunex was worth the step up in money every day...

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

They dont have HF listed. I will shoot them a call though, thanks! I did that, haha... they need a serial number at the least, but that was no guarantee. I found what appears to be a date code on the bottom of it (not stamped on, but a piece of paper glued on), but I cant find any serial...

    Disappointed in GearWrench

This is a bummer. All my GW stuff I bought in 2018 have been great buys for the money and performed well. Re: Tekton - I haven't found them to be in the same class at all. If this is the path GW is going that will ****.

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

Wasn't sure if HF stood behind it, obviously the jack is less than 3 yrs old. But I figured as much.

    Vintage Floor Jacks

What is a fair price for a rebuilt walker if I find one locally? I look on and off and I am thinking about actually buying one when I find a fair deal this time around. Thanks

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

Seems like a seal on my Daytona went. It wont lift under weight and I hear air going in and out of it... as well as some oil leaking from where I assume the rear seal would be. I bought it about 2 years ago when they were being sold on ebay for ~100 bucks. Has anyone else had an issue and...

    Miter Saws

Dewalt DW716s are really prevalent used on CL, and they are double bevel and will cut a 2x10. They are also lighter than a 10" sliding compound. It's a good middle ground for the DIY'er IMO. I have one.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

The new stubbys are so sweet, but I think a m12 ratchet is in my future first. To be used it tandem with my 2767. :) I also just picked up the Gen 2 blower, it's pretty nice. I almost bought a 9.0 battery, luckily I saw the new 12.0 first... That seems like money much better spent as...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Anyone have an upload for the 26" red/blue/black coupon for 229? I got a flyer for a coupon good through October, but its not uploaded to http://www.hfqpdb.com I foolishly threw out the flyer because I assumed the coupon would be on the hfqpdb website. The only coupon on there is for the red...

Craftsman 5198. Who made these awesome vises!!

Anyone on here get the 5191 in Chicago area? The listing is already down, and I saw it 2 days ago. Price seemed steep but not outrageous. My buddy in Chicago didn't have time to get it for me, so I didn't even contact the seller.
