8 foot high output LED retrofit Anyone?

Thanks for reply, pretty much what I thought. Bulbs are not flickering but do take a while to attain full brightness. Pro-Lighting current price is $22 per bulb + shipping. Free shipping you order 12 or more but the scam is only sold in case increments of 10. So must purchase 20 to get free...

8 foot high output LED retrofit Anyone?

I currently have (4) 8' High-Output fluorescent fixtures on an 9' ceiling. Has anyone replaced just the lamps with LED's? Looking at the: RAB 96" 40W T8HO LED - Ballast Bypass - Opposing End Wired - R17d HO Base - 5000K - 5,500 Lumens - 120-277V from Pro-Lighting. I would rather not replace the...

    Boiler water feed

Excellent, that looks like my answer. Can shut off entire house and still provide boiler water. Thank you!

    Boiler water feed

Thanks for replies. I currently do have text and email notification of low temperature alerts. Not too worried about boiler leaks as its in a separate room, but I am most concerned about smaller lines breaking, leaking, etc which can go un-noticed for a period of time and cause a LOT of damage...

    Boiler water feed

Not really a garage question but I trust the knowledge of this forum. We have a seasonal house and want to shut off the water supply (well) with an app-based remote valve when not there. We keep the house temp above freezing all year long with an oil-fired hot water boiler with both radiant and...

    Garage kitchen undercabinet lighting

How directional is the beam from tape lighting? Some say to angle towards rear, other use a diffuser. Are both / either necessary for good, even lighting? Also I'm assuming a mounting track ( aluminum or plastic) would make for a cleaner job, and more durable when cleaning?

    Garage kitchen undercabinet lighting

Looks great, thanks for the pictures. I probably won't go for the home automation, just looking for a quality light. I assume all these are probably Chinese made? Any of the brands the better of the them?.

    Garage kitchen undercabinet lighting

Ok, got you to bite. Kitchen is not in the garage! Going to be completely renovating my kitchen soon. I'm an old schooler when it comes to undercabinet lighting (clunky ballasted fluorescents). What's everyone's opinions on LED U/C lighting? Tape? Pucks? Fixtures? Leaning towards the tape...

Hooking hardwired boiler up to small 120V generator

What about just using a spdt "selector" switch? Mount a box near the boiler with a male plug pigtail hanging from it. Wire the common of the switch to the boiler and 1 side to POCO and other side to male pigtail. All neutrals together as well as grounds together. Could actually just use a 3-way...

Hyperikon LED tube T8 lamp retrofit

Relamped 11 (6) lamp 4' 32 watt fluorescents in my shop, approx 12' mounting height. Bypassed the ballasts, used 5k 18w led lamps from Pro-lighting. 1- Better lighting by about 20% 2- Less energy use by about 40% 3 - Got a POCO rebate that paid for 3/4 of the cost 4- Increased lamp lifespan 5-...

    Thick floor tile

Looking to put some tiles maybe 3' around part of perimeter of garage by walls for storage. I want to raise items up a little bit in case of water puddles from cars etc. Any recommendations on a tile that is 1/2" to 3/4" thick? They can be open grating or textured, and not much weight will be on...

    Remote control with countdown timer?

Yes, that's what I have for a bathroom fan, works great. In the case of my garage, I want the control on the opposite end and prefer not to re-wire if I don't have to. Seems to be quite a selection of what I'm looking for, I just don't have any experience with these devices and looking for...

    Remote control with countdown timer?

I installed a wall mounted 24" oscillating fan in my garage. It is the far corner, 32 feet from where I generally work. Looking for a remote control unit i could use to turn the fan on / off. Also would like a timer that would shut the fan down after a period of time to dry floor, dispurse...

Does reflectors change lumen output greatly?

Thanks. That's pretty much what I was thinking.

Does reflectors change lumen output greatly?

I have (11) 2 x 4 (6)-lamp 32w t-8 fixtures in my shop I am converting to LED (removing ballasts). The POCO rebate is giving me back about 70% of the lamp cost. That plus the wattage savings make it a no-brainer. The fixtures have the polished reflectors installed, and mounting height is about...

    LED mounting height / lumens

Good idea, thanks. I'm thinking 15 x 100w fixtures now evenly spaced, rather than 11 x 150w. Will def look into the glare shields.

    LED mounting height / lumens

I have a commercial building approx. 40 x70 with a max. of 14' to bottom of roof decking. I am looking to replace my existing fluorescent fixtures with the UFO style-LED high bay fixtures. (So bottom of fixture would be approx. 13' above floor). My question is does anyone think a 150W version...
