    My new shop.

Easiest and insurance approved is propane. If insulated good enough it doesn't take much and you can leave it on the cold side other then when you plan to be out there. Wifi programmable thermostat and it can be prewarmed. I had detached wood furnace and a pellet stove. But they are harder for...

Triumph c7000 or Maxjax (for the billionth time)

Back to the lifts vs certifications - has anyone moved either style around the shop? I have a Rotory 2 post lift but honestly I have many times I would like 2 cars in the air ( I have many vws and sometimes rob parts from one to get the other moving - even tires with snow and summer tires). But...

    Spray Foam Complete

I have 3 inches on the 2x4 stud walls where I sleep. While putting 41 dump trucks of fill for the new shop while I was sleeping as I work night shift I slept fine. Mind you I have 3 sets of shades on the window and a white noise maker in the room but the trucks were 30 feet outside the room...

    Floor drain in new slab

Most codes require day lighting the exit of the drain. If in a climate where there is freezing then I would not put a P trap. Otherwise if it will never freeze then put the trap to keep air movement down and possibly pests. I don't have a p trap and mine is daylighted. May bury a biodiffuser...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I bought mine last fall when I sold my 60 gal air compressor before moving - was planning on upgrading after the move but still needed to air the tires up. In the last year I have only needed a bigger compressor to run the nail gun refinishing the garage into living space at the family farm...

    Finishing pole barn interior

Looks like your header boards holding the rafters between poles are 1.5 inches thick. You could finish off with wood that thick. 2x10s or what ever you can find that matches budget and looks for you. Are you trying to make it to code? If so you may need to do that and then put drywall or fire...

    Base boards for shop

What kind of glue for the osb? And what cauk to hold the best to the floor? Thank you on the warthog. Father got it to symbolize for telling the story when. He was chased by one in Africa. I am thinking I'd calling it warthog garage. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Wisdom of crowds 2: to gutter or not to gutter in snow country

There is a lot of gutters out there and not all have ripped off. Had on my one shop installed for the snow melt that iced up the concrete making it more dangerous for 4 years before moving. 50 feet on the front with heat tape. Just installed on my current shop. Will see how it holds up to the...

Rotary lift owners please step in

Seems like a good lift. Bought mine used for $1000. But I had to tear down, load and erect on my own. Lots of used 2 post lifts for 1k-2k. I had to use a skid steer to load. Mine has the flip up pads and truck extensions so I have 4 heights. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    Base boards for shop

I spray foamed the shop and thanks to this forum I was convinced to finish the walls to help protect the spray foam from sparks and uv light damage. I got a GREAT deal on some fire bloc osb board that has the same rating as sheet rock but much more durable and I am finishing the walls with that...

    Pole Barn ceiling insulation

Where are you located? Most heat lost is in the ceiling. Celulous is cheap when blown in yourself. You can rent from menards the tool. Does it have a vapor barrier of any kind? If not then consider that or things can rot in the future from condensation. Vapor barrier goes towards the living...

    Removable wall for winter heat

Found some good stuff on here. Tape to a lightweight pipe tie 3 or 4 ropes looped around and connected to a common point to one rope to pull up and down. There is a place that has some custom lengths they can make in the spring when not as swamped if I can't find a size that will work premade...

    Weed whacker recommendations?

The last gen of battery powered yard tools blows all other electric ones away and in my opinion beats gas for a few reasons. Get the platform you already own. I own Milwaukee fuel and have several 12 ah batteries since I have their other bigger tools like table saw, chain saw, ect. Plenty of...

    Removable wall for winter heat

I like the rope and pulley idea. Any ideas for designing? With as wide as it is that could be a mile of rope unless I can figure it out better. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    Garage heating on a budget

Don't skimp on the garage doors and seals. Propane or ng are the quickest and if you need them already for heat on the fuel source it will be the most efficient. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Options for trenching in a propane line and sizing

$2/foot trenched for me on my tank install. Splitting a 1000 gal tank for the house and shop. Requires 3 regulators. One to get down to 10 psi for the line. One at the house for 1/2 psi for that furnace which it is only used as backup heat and the last one I think was at 2 psi to run one 175k...
