Power to GFCI but not working

You nailed it. Damn, I feel like an idiot. Perfect example of one instance of not paying attention can cause a ton of heartburn. All outlets are working now! Thanks for helping me realize my brain fart.

Power to GFCI but not working

Nothing plugged in downstream. The GFCI doesn’t do anything when I hit test or reset. Nothing clicks nothing trips nothing.

Power to GFCI but not working

Here you go. Line (from the panel) coming in with the white attached to the top silver screw on GFCI, black attached to the top brass screw. Load line attached to the bottom GFCI screws. The 20 amp breaker that’s off is the circuit in question.

Power to GFCI but not working

EDIT: Solved. I had a huge brain fart and had the line on the load posts. Problem solved! Pay attention to your work, fellas. Thanks, all! Disclaimer: Many will think this much Electrical in a shed is overkill. But I’m a homebrewer, running multiple fridges and deep freezers and in the process...

Hanging narrow piece of hardie above door trim

Thanks, bud. Thankfully I'm in the deep south and I can't remember the last time we got snow. I do like the "more tailored" look. I just need to decide if it's worth it for me to pull the bottom one or two rows off and putting up a skirt board like that. I've been painting all the cut ends...

Hanging narrow piece of hardie above door trim

I can't find the Boral skirt board, or anything similar anywhere near me, at least nothing closer than 100 miles. Is it possible to essentially make my own with a piece of PVC/composite trim and some routing with the right bits?

Hanging narrow piece of hardie above door trim

Awesome, I appreciate that. You're saying to move the ledger/story board (the 1x6 spanning the length of the shed) up to where it's against the frieze boards underneath the eaves running up to the peak?

Hanging narrow piece of hardie above door trim

Good catch! Yes, I royally screwed up at first. And I realized this as I got to the top of the door frame. So I pulled off 6 courses on the right side, fudged them all a quarter inch, and now they're lining up at the top of the windows. ETA: I like the idea of just doing the drip cap there...

Hanging narrow piece of hardie above door trim

I've got a narrow run of space between the top of my door trim on my new shed and the bottom of the ledger/frieze board wrapping around the front of the shed. It's probably about 2" of space (see attached) When I rip the hardie to put it up there, so I just tack it on like normal to fill the...

Advice on trimming new shed - frieze boards

My mistake. Could have sworn they were working earlier. Will update.

Advice on trimming new shed - frieze boards

I'm sure people probably call them different things in different regions. But I'm referring to frieze boards, or the board that goes under your soffits/gable ends as a sort of barrier between the siding and the ridge/soffits. I'm trimming my new 12x20 shed I've been building for far too long at...

    Window trim thickness?

Thanks again. So I’ll do aluminum flashing over the top. For the sides and bottom do you think I should add the same rubberized Tite Seal flashing tape that I flashed the bottom/bottom-sides of the jam/sill?

    Window trim thickness?

Thank you both! Great advice, I won’t caulk it. The nailing fin/flange? That’s 2” unless I misunderstood you. It’s been a pain in the *** to find the right windows for this. Made the mistake of framing it out before I had the windows. So I’m using what fits (24x36). This is the second set of...

    Window trim thickness?

Gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. But another question, this hardi is the same Thats on my house (see pic for reference). And I know my house windows are different but I don’t see another J channel?

    Window trim thickness?

Best options for “making it work”?

    Window trim thickness?

Shed windows are installed and I got the 3/4” x 3.5” PVC trim boards. But the width of the trim isn’t as thick as the window. And it sort of slides in a channel. Is that normal? And I just caulk around it to make it flush and keep it dry? Pic for reference: ETA: I will be siding with hardiboard.

    I forgot how much I love Rain-X

I think this is my issue. I've been trying to use the spray bottle ****. I swear it doesn't work as well as the squeeze bottle did way back when. I'll see if I can find the squeeze bottle. Thanks.

    I forgot how much I love Rain-X

Ok, someone help me out here. I want to like RainX. I used to love it. Used it years ago (early 2000s) and loved it. Quit using it for whatever reason for years. Got some recently to start using on my wife's and my car and it seems to work for one rain then it's ****. Am I not applying enough...

Should I just buy new drip edge?

Good call. Didn’t even consider blocking and a hammer. And you’re right, I can put the crappy ones on the sides that aren’t visible for the most part. Thanks.

Should I just buy new drip edge?

My lumber delivery was eons ago. Just now unwrapping the drip edge. A lot of it is pretty bent up on the drip side (non nailing side). See pics for reference. Is it worth it trying to straighten these out by hand or easier to just buy new ones? 12x20 shed, would only be about $45-50 for new drip...
