I will second the add insulation vote. Insulation is a thermal barrier that will resist a temperature change. Keeps the heat you have in during the winter and keeps the heat out during the summer months.

Any appliance requires a regulator to reduce from line pressure down to the appliance pressure regardless of fuel type. That way you do not burn buildings down.

"Burners seam clean" is not neccessarily good enough for proper flame propogation. You might have to remove them to clean them properly.

Just my own thought here but the high limit should not take out the pilot. The loss of the pilot signal would take out the burner. Have you checked the heat exchanger for cracks? Have you checked the millivolt signal of the pilot?

Is there a chance you could post a model and serial number of the evaportator? Even for those with access to Carrier we would have to provide that info.
