Thank you for replying. I thought it looked like some kind of wood-finishing tool. There does not seem to be any way to anchor a sheet of sandpaper other than getting it crimped in the hinge joints at either end. I guess I will put it in the 'beats me' pile.

I found this tool in the garage and cannot figure out what it is. I have tried to include pictures of the tool - hope that worked. It is marked COMPANION Made in USA on the top. There is a number on the side - I think it is 3681 It also has instructions to Pry Open On the bottom of the tool...

Hi - I am an old lady cleaning out and sorting numerous tool boxes. I have found a tool that I cannot identify. I have joined in the hopes that someone can help me. Thanks in advance for any information provided. KLB
