Agreed. Unless your installing a 2 post lift in the future or a huge crack develops, I'd just live with it. Just increase your "other structures" part of your home owners insurance to more than cover a rebuild if a hurricane takes it out.

Enclosed pole barn. I wired it myself due to the outrageous quotes I received from electricians (between $6 - $7k!). No water or insulation...I'll see how the summer goes.

Holy ****, I thought $40k was high for an enclosed 30X50X12 with a 30X20X12 carport on 6" slab was expensive back in October...I'll never complain again. A 24' depth with a 2 post lift is kind of tight...

TIL concrete slabs are EXPENSIVE in Colorado. This thread is why I am hesitant to sub out my shop build this Summer...I'll pay a little extra to have one Contractor prep the site, pour the slab, and erect the building.

This is an awesome write up on your build. I'm currently debating between an enclosed pole barn or metal building like you have (30x50x14). Why didn't you install wiring before insulating and installing the corrugated panels? Seems like it might be more costly now...

I've never understood the "ask my wife before purchasing something" dynamic... Sure I understand if its a car/truck/vacation, but a inexpensive tool? Not so much.

That's awesome. I'll be storing a car in mine as well as having space for wood working and was debating on just installing an exhaust fan to run during the day (during summer) or a mini split.

Did you look at building a garage similar to your carport? (That is the metal square tubing style I was referring to). I can get a 30X50X13, 4 windows, 1 entry door, 2 10X7 roll up doors for about $20k (not including the slab)...when I get quotes from steel or enclosed pole barn styles it's...

Steel like Champion buildings or metal (square tubing) like Carolina Carports (and countless other companies)....

Definitely following this thread. I'm trying to decide between a steel or metal building myself...The cost difference is crazy.
