    Help with new shop

Two things which stand out to me from a pure construction perspective, are the power and concrete. Power has been discussed already. I would install 200A service during the build and call it a day. Worry about extra outlets/lights later but at least you will have the foundation you need from an...

What 4 post lift for the money?

Advantage 9K after a lot of research and talking with several companies. Liked their product and service so much that a bought one of their 2 posts to put next to my 4 post. I find myself using the 2 post for all of my wrenching and the 4 mainly for storage or if I need to work on a second...

    Deposit for working up quote?

I would agree to find another contractor. Quotes and bids are the cost of doing business. I am in sales and if I were compensated for every quote, proposal and RFP I responded to, I would never have to sell anything...just live off of the fees. In my opinion, when someone has thousands of your...

    Bendpak

My Advantage lift was packaged just like that. Arrived via common carrier and had absolutely No damage/scratches. And all for less money than BP.

    Bendpak

Re: Bendpak is seriously ****! Finn....sounds like you have a vested stake in BendPack. Are you affiliated with them? The fact that you call people who do research before purchasing something, Fake News, is just ignorant. FYI, BendPack was at the top of my list of vendors until I started...

    Bendpak

Re: Bendpak is seriously ****! The fact that there are that many complaints and issues for a brand new product, speaks to BP’s level of commitment to quality and manufacturing. Great if they take care of problems but they need to address the source of the problems for long term client...

    Bendpak

Re: Bendpak is seriously ****! With all due respect, how do you research a product you are planning on investing in? Or do you just go and purchase something blindly based upon name recognition and hope for the best? The web and forums like this, are full of good and bad experiences for a...

    Absolute Best Garage Cabinet System?

I invested in the NewAge Pro 3 line. Welded heavier gauge, self closing drawers and doors, nice workmanship and excellent customer service. For the money, a very nice quality set. It all depends how much you want to spend and how much you will be using them. It’s the age old debate...do you...

    Advantage 4-Post lifts accessory question

I will be at my shop later today and will take/post some pics of the Advantage jack with dimensions.

    Bendpak

Re: Bendpak is seriously ****! I would not settle for anything but a new replacement unit. The few scratches are to be expected as others have indicated, due to heavy freight shipment. But in my opinion, the remaining issues are unacceptable, especially when you are paying premium dollar for a...

    Advantage 4-Post lifts accessory question

I have one on my 4 post Advantge lift and it works great. The wheels are adjustable in/out so you should be able to use it on your Bendpak unit. I purchased the air operated version with my lift, and paid $800 as part of a package deal. That included truck adapters. Can’t go wrong with Tony...

Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift

Just heard back from the manufacturer. Loading front or back is fine as long as the load/weight is balanced. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift

Not a stupid comment at all. I have a call in to them but was also looking for some real world input.

Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift

Thanks for the insight. I definitely use 4 high jacks and understand the change in weight when parts start coming off. My main concern was the use of arms and you guys have addressed that. Appreciate everyone’s feedback!

Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift

Thanks all for the input and the compliments... The way I have the arms in my picture is just for storage. I don't lift cars that way but thanks for mentioning it. ------------------------------------------Kermit007 Re: Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift Lifts are designed to have the front...

Long and Short Arms on 2 Post Lift

Hello All. I just installed my 2 post in a symmetrical configuration with the posts facing each other. The lift came with long and short arms as it could have been installed asymmetrically with the columns tilted. My understanding is that the shorter arms are for the front of the vehicle...

    Excited for a 40 x 60 Shop

I have 3 overhead fluorescent fixtures with 6 bulbs each and then picked up these LED fixtures from Costco for $25 each. Mounted them to the side walls and put them on a remote control outlet. Give off plenty of light for a reasonable cost. My shop workspace is 32’x50’.

Which two post lift to buy

I just had a Launch 9000 lb installed through Advantage lifts, where I purchased my 4 post. So far it seems like a nice unit. Yes, it’s chinese made but under specs and oversight by Launch. In speaking with the installer, who does all of the various models, he informed me that most of the...
