+1 on Bauer. I’d get the low speed one. Mine lasted for 1,000 sq ft of tile and a hundred sq ft of mortar. My tile guy bought it off me after he smoked several on other jobs. Still going strong.

Get a small Oreck buffer and polishing pads. Easier than your car polisher. Spray some water and buff it once in a while to keep them looking sharp. I have the Oreck buffer with a bristle brush on it for the tile and use it often.

I went with SCUFF-X paint. I can not say enough about it. Washes clean. Doesn’t mark or scuff. The only time I mess it up I damage the drywall too. I can’t remember the finish. I can check if you want. I went with a bright white for lighting purpose.

If the cracks are in plane, use ditra as an uncoupling membrane and run porcelain tile with in field expansion joints (schluter bwb). You can grind the floor and run a 12x12 tile for a more forgiving job. Then epoxy grout for the win.

You will be happy with Forward lifts. For me it was between Forward and the Derek Weaver. Went with Weaver on the flip of a coin. The mechanics in fleet had no complaints about the forward lifts they have seen.

Looks great! I am finishing up a porcelain tile job on the 2nd half of a 1,000sqft garage. We used Ditra as well and Dilex BWB over the control joints (to the nearest whole tile). For the joints, ideally you would leave the concrete control joint clear of any leveling compound or recut them...
