I thought about this, what kind of wood would you use. I read that pressure treated wood has something in it that you shouldn't bolt it to metal. So, I guess just a regular 2 x 6. I am not promised anything, but I hope I can use it another 30 or 40 years.

I thought about welding it, but that white piece is trim, so the trim wouldn't fit back right unless i am thinking wrong on the orientation of the angle. The angle would have to be on the outside of the jamb.

I am trying to get some doors hung on my red iron building. The door guy said I needed 5" or so to mount the door track. The frame oping is only 3". He wants me to mount a 2"X6" all around. I feel like over time the wood will deuterate. I was thinking has anybody ever bolted a 6" wide 1/4"...

Just curious, do you think your roof insulation was worth it? I have 6" for mine but the building inspector to be by code I needed what you have. I was trying to decide if it is worth it. Thanks

I guess you call it red iron, mine was grey, but it is bolt up, everything is supposed to be already welded.

There not much wiggle room at the base, I had to straighten just about all of the anchors so the plates would go down. The few I have moved I had to torch out the hole a bit.

I am measuring the base plate at the 4 corner columns at the slab.

Is there a way to measure or square up with the post where they are, I mean try and do 3,4,5 or something so I only have to move as few of the columns as possible.

Can you explain this more, when you say draw it out, do you mean on the pad?

I think the pad is 1" longer than should be, but the wall sheets hang down past the pad, my only concern on that is if the columns are to for in from the edge of the pad the wall sheets my bend out at the bottom because it will fasten to angel piece fastened down to the pad.
