    Flow through vs solid

Do you have the free flow style tiles in that area? If so, is it difficult to keep clean underneath?

    Flow through vs solid

Interesting. Very interesting. I have a shop in my garage. Although I try to contain it, I don't have good dust collection. What do you recommend for situations like mine?

    Flow through vs solid

I am trying to understand why the free flow tiles would not have the click clack noise of the the solid tiles. Can you explain?

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

I have many times been guilty of over thinking something. My thing is I also only like to do things once. I just want to make sure the shelf with my tools doesn't rip a cleat off the wall. I am familiar with GRK and Spax. What is a "Grabber Screw"?

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

The overhead shelves mentioned above would have the greatest weight as I would be storing many of my tools there. I have seen many, many widths of cleat used. I have seen one screw per stud and sometimes 2 screws per stud. I suspect I would need the latter.

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

I could see that. I would need to be careful whenever moving things.

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

Along with tool storage at eye level, I want to have overhead shelving supported totally by the cleat system. I am using attic trusses for the roof. I am always worried about loading. I don't want to tie into the overhead ceiling joist. I want the studs alone to take the load. I can...

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

Yes, just like that. What I meant was most examples I see people apply a 4' x 8' x 1/2" sheet of plywood on top of the sheetrock. Then apply the cleats on to the plywood. I want to paint the wall mounted cleats to match the painted sheetrock. Do you any chance of the pieces sticking...

What are the Pro's and Con's of attaching french cleats directly over drywall?

My garage interior walls are all 1/2" drywall. I want to go with french cleats, but don't want to use a plywood backer like I see most people do. What I would like to do is cut the french cleats, paint them the same color latex as the existing drywall and apply them directly to the drywall...

Looking for feedback on Flex Nitro Tiles

Wow. Based on lack of response no one is using the Flex Nitro Tiles. Admittedly, I have never seen a hard plastic tile floor like RaceDeck. For whatever reason in my mind I don't like the idea of hard plastic tiles under my feet. I know many have commented that landscape fabric...

Looking for feedback on Flex Nitro Tiles

After looking at the many options I am pretty sure I want the flexible, interlocking PVC floor tile. I saw several variations at Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon. I liked them all. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the visible interlocks. They would be especially noticeable when two different...

    Need Concrete Sealer Recommendations

I used the oil based Eagle brand. It looks really good following application, but fades in a couple years. Not sure at that point how effective it is at resisting water absorption.

Need input on attic lift fall arrestors

As I understand this model fall arrestor from the point of the beginning of the fall it will allow it to drop no more than 54" (likely much less from what I have seen demonstrated). My take is if the hoist cable snapped while you were 8' up you could drop no more than 54" and you would be 42"...

Need input on attic lift fall arrestors

That is one of the last ones I watched. It appears the fall arrestor he is using is one of the 3M Rebel models. I believe it is only rated at 310#. During the video there was all kinds of discussion about safety, but the load rating for the fall arrestor was never questioned. At least as I...

Need input on attic lift fall arrestors

What I have been seeing on the youtube videos is the fall arrestor attached to the building and the bottom is attached to the carriage.

Need input on attic lift fall arrestors

So, my suspicions are true? These guys are putting these self retracting lifelines on the lifts, but the weight of the loaded lift exceeds the rated weight? The specifications that confused me were Worker Weight Capacity: 130-310 lb. Average Arrest Force: 900 lb. (Max) Arrest Force...

Need input on attic lift fall arrestors

I am planning a build of one of the attic lift elevators using a hoist. Many on YouTube use a fall arrestor as a backup in the event the hoist fails. The thing I don't understand is the load rating on the fall arrestors. Most YouTubers show a single fall arrestor rated to hold no more than...
