    Is this Duro Indestro?

Thanks so much for all the info. I live in SE Wisconsin, so lots of SK tools show up here in thrift shops and rummage sales. Also random Snap-On pieces. My latest find was a Milwaukee Tool and Forge socket!

    Mystery sockets

I was digging through some old knurled sockets, and I’m mystified by these two unbranded 1/2” drive sockets. They are marked: 25/32 T-25 13/16 T-26 They came to me with a clearly marked Milwaukee Tool and Forge socket, and have similar knurling, but that’s where the similarity ends. Any idea...

    Is this Duro Indestro?

This socket looks like Duro Indestro, but I’ve never seen one with simple dots on either side of the size. Duro Indestro usually has stars or trapezoids. I’ve got six 1/2”-drive sockets with similar markings. Can you help me? Thanks so much!

    Mystery Pliers or Forming-Tool?

These pliers (?) came my way last week. They appear to be some sort of specialty forming tool. No cutters. A single hole for a wire or pin. Curved jaws for forming something. Unmarked. Any ideas about their purpose? Thanks so much for your wisdom! Bob Johannes

You all love a mystery, and I have two!

Nothing that I can see on the inside of the handles. But they look like Utica pliers.

You all love a mystery, and I have two!

Yes, I see! Not lineman’s pliers, no sidecutter in the jaws. Thank you!

You all love a mystery, and I have two!

I had a great week, and picked up 20+ pounds of interesting tools. These two have me mystified. This is the largest lineman’s pliers I have ever seen, 10.5 inches long. But no mark that I can recognize. Do these pliers look familiar to any of you? And this level tube. It’s obvious New...

Found these in a rusty toolbox with one Billings Vitalloy and three Snap-On S-over-O marked sockets.

    SR socket set-need information

I love jumping into an 8-year old discussion, which looks like it’s been a discussion for many years before. Look what I found today! Both 1/2” drive. One is drilled. Does anyone have an answer yet?

I know that you all love a mystery

Here are a couple of pics, showing the jaws. They appear to be meant to fold or crimp something.

I know that you all love a mystery

They definitely have a cutting feature, and a distinct folding/crimping feature in the jaws.

I know that you all love a mystery

I happened on these rusty pliers headed to the scrap bin. They were too strange to let go. They cleaned up a bit, but I can’t find a maker’s mark or any mark at all. Tried photo search, and found nothing. Any ideas? I know that there are unusual shoemakers’ pliers. Any idea? I know that...

Reed & Prince R&P 719–what’s this used for?

This is obviously my week for mystery tools, and I can’t resist a mystery. This is a Reed & Prince 719, which I cannot find anywhere online. It appears to be some sort of a nut driver. Does anyone know its purpose? Thanks so much!

    Two Mysteries

Thank you! Pocket scope makes sense. Just have to figure out how to focus it. I have to post one more item that came to me in the same box as the pocket scope. It’s a Huot drill index from St. Paul MN. It holds 60 drills, all of them under 1/4 in. .228 down to .040. Sadly it’s unique, but...

    Two Mysteries

Thanks so much—you all are amazing! I’ll leave a post on the USMC forum. It makes some sense that the scope might be drafting equipment. I came upon a stash of machinists measuring devices, many of them Mitutoyo, and they came with a Mitutoyo loupe. It’s just like a jeweler’s loupe, for...
