    Vintage Grinder Sticker Reproduction

It’s the contour on the cast iron I think combined with the angle. Few pics below that maybe you can work from ? I’m fine with focusing on this main label. It’s the focal point! It is 4” wide x 2” tall. You may be able to approximate the radius with the scale but I’m going to say it’s basically...

    Vintage Grinder Sticker Reproduction

Hey Matt, I re-did a Dayton grinder and my labels are in poor condition. Can you please take a look at the attached and let me know what you might be able to do? I'd really like the main motor label and on/off switch label re-done in aluminum. I did manage to save them in the resto but they...

Craftsman bandsaw clean up and a motor question for the pros

Hi Gents, Picked up a vintage Caraftsman on Craigslist and really enjoyed cleaning her up and getting her ready for service. Before and afters to follow! Now, I have a little motor issue. It has a 1/3 ho split phase induction motor. When powering off , about 30% of the time , I don’t hear the...

    Cleaning vintage toolboxes?

I like PB Blaster for this type of cleaning…but again, paint is its own animal. Test in an inconspicuous spot for sure regardless of what chemical you may choose.

What is this hand-made handle (?) for please?

I am along this same line. The teeth are too irregular to be any kind of effective drive mechanism. I would then assume they either cut, or hold a position. My guess is also that it’s some sort of mallet head with the metal piece being part of the fixation, albeit a sad one alone. My 2 cents….

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

Picked up a Dayton grinder and an old Toolkraft drill press last weekend. Spent the week replacing some wiring, toggle switches, and hardware. Fresh coats of paint and let the USA machines ride again ! 😉 Gave $45 for the grinder (which included the stand that the press now is mounted to) and $80...

    Oiling a GE motor ?

I shouldn't say there were no plugs...there were, but they were made of saw dust  Yep....I'll likely tap it and make little threaded plugs. Thanks gent!

Think I found them. These little holes lead to the bearing. Oddly, no caps…maybe PO removed :( I’ll figure out something. Thanks for the info @Old hand !

    Oiling a GE motor ?

Hi gents! Doing a little cleanup on a new to me Toolkraft drill press. Removed the GE motor to inspect the electrical connections and noticed a label shown below. Oil with SAE10…ok. Anyone that can point me to a good reference for lubrication points on this guy ? Thanks !

    Atlas 63 Drill Press Restoration / Resto-Mod

Very well done! I picked up a Toolkraft model that is similar (and is in similar condition to your "before" pics). It gives me inspiration to see your work and know I'm not alone when my wife walks by and rolls the eyes!

Shows where our society is when either of those items can cause concern for bodily hammer. In that regard, the flight attendant cart is a deadly battering ram. If it holds more than 20 drinks, it's an assault ram!

Ever seen a belt sander like this?

E-stop was a poor choice of words as it isn’t safety redundant an isolated like industrial code. Just an on/off box with a Mashable stop button. PO had her plug and play 😳. Thanks for the tip.

Ever seen a belt sander like this?

Well, I’m tired but happy. Spent the whole weekend getting the old girl back up to snuff. Still have some decals and an e-stop switch coming to bring her service ready, but wanted to share with all of you fellows who helped with answers. Have a great evening 😁
