    Vintage S-K Tools

HELP!!! I received this S-K box the other day. It's an obvious 3/8 drive set. Red label set so I checked all the sets on ITCL. This one is different for me because it has the slotted internal tray like I see in Husky socket sets. Shown here adjacent to a #4511 3/8 drive 11 pc set it is a much...

The Vintage New Britain and Associated Thread!

I was surprised to realize that through all my years of collecting Husky sets, all my GJ posts have been on other threads (such as 1/4 drive socket thread...). Anyway, I recently purchased this 3/8 drive #5114 set. The box label and reference item # scream catalog 101A from 1957. But, the...

    Post up your Thorsen tools!

I currently have a unknown # 1/4 & 3/8 drive set, a #3809A 3/8 drive set and a #3812 3/8 drive set that I'm actively restocking. I've recently acquired a whole bunch of Action 1/2 drive stuff so I'm looking for an Action box to put it in. Those 3/8 sets just lack a 12JA flex handle, #614 618 and...

    Post up your Thorsen tools!

Hey, I found a Thorsen 56J 3/8 drive 9" extension the other day. Checked the 1931, 1960s, 1980s catalogs and don't see the 56J. Is it a unicorn?

Show your Indestro and Duro-Chrome tools

Don, I just got this in. It's a Indestro Super Quality box with D-I sockets and the #2850 flex handle. The box is 9 3/4 × 3 1/4 so similar to your Duro blue box but this one appears more OD green (and Indestro). Not seeing it in the 1935 catalog so unsure what's supposed to be stocked in it...

My Small But Growing 1/4" drive Socket Set Collection

How's about this unbranded 6" long 1/4 drive extension. Diamond knurling and labeled 1/4 only. I need to know the maker!

    That mysterious unknown socket

Here's a new one. Unbranded. Heavy steel, 1/2" drive 1/2" 12 pt socket, knurled diamond pattern at the very bottom, tapered. Thinking possibly SW but I don't remember seeing anything like this one? Thoughts anyone?

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Started off Saturday with an estate sale just up the road from me. An older lady that I had run several medical aid calls on in the past had died. Got a good solid prybar and a wrench for a few dollars. It was good to meet her son and daughter. From there hit two yard sales with nothing good to...

Aaah, I would've taken that as a refrigeration ratchet at first look. I have Bonney RF ratchets that look very similar. I'm headed to the shop to look closer at my Walden stash...thanks for this post and the catalog reference, is that off ITCL?

The Vintage New Britain and Associated Thread!

Ok, here I go again... Swung by a friend of mine at his peddlers cart shop today. He sold me an unused 11pc 1/2" drive Proto socket set for $11. While I was gathering up the sockets he brings out an older vintage socket box and asks if I knew what it was. Nice old None Better 1/2" drive T 1200...

Nut Drivers (new or old) show them here

I took a shot at a box lot of various nut drivers in a local online auction. The location was 1.5 hours away so not worth it to drive over and review ahead of auction time. The roll bag looked official US issue but couldn't really tell from the posted Pic. Anyway, won the bid and a few other...

BK, I was looking through a Habitat Restore in Maryland yesterday and found the same box. Had six original sockets still in it. Surprised to remove the top foam piece and find the content insert in pristine shape!

    Vintage S-K Tools

Thanks for posting this Don. I found this set at the third day 75% off everything estate sale that I happened across on my way back from the flea market. I chuckled to myself that all the good stuff would be gone. I was quite surprised to find it, a Penens tool box and a handful of sockets still...
