Thanks. Aluminum soffits, as PoorUB suggested too, make good sense. Going straight across would help make the garage look less high. It would be 4' across. I wonder if the aluminum soffit would need any support in the middle. I may add some pot lights. I could redo my porch as well.

Looks odd to me too, PC Customs. I did move my headers up, so that space is flexible. (I thought if the next guy that buys this house wants a taller garage door, it will be doable. (Too expensive for me).

I used Redhead idea of lowering the garage height instead of lining it up.

My wife says my new attached garage looks a little too big. I'll appreciate any design ideas that would make it appear a little smaller. I found one example from the internet.

I'm extending a gable porch roof to build a 2 car garage. I want to drop the extended roof 6"-12" but I have no idea on how to flash it. I'm hoping to continue the same roof line. I may have to resort to lowering it as you say. I have plenty of height. I will be coverting the porch right window into a door to access the garage.

I'm not married to the 29'-10'. I would even consider a 2 x 8 sill plate. I have 8" poured concrete walls.

It seems to see that if I move the west wall (sill plate) south a little, I'll still end up with a trapazoid ( West wall 23'10" and East wall 23' 8 3/4")

2 x 6 wooden stud walls.

The dimensions were supposed to be 23' 8 3/4" by 29' 10". An attached 2 bay garage will be built on it and it is level. We will be using manufactured trusses and a plywood sheating and a 2"x6" spruce stud walls. I just want things to line up. (Thanks for questions Readhead.)
