What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Today was a bummer! My old hunter p611 pc won't turn on or not sending signal to monitor. Going to see if I can find a video card for it haha. But of course I find this out when I really need it. A friend has an 05 mustang and Mavis keeps telling him they can't do alignment without replacing tie...

Snap on smoke machine (it's not old!! Haha)

Thanks for sharing!! That *****, but understandable. I got it to work to find some leaks, and my replacement arrived. But I'll check out this one as well. I do not want to be caught like this again ugh

Snap on smoke machine (it's not old!! Haha)

I've had this EELD500 smoke machine since new in 2010. Wanted to see if anyone has had one apart. It keeps showing a low bat warning. While it does have an option to use one of the original battery packs, it also has option of using alligator clips to the car battery, which is what I do. It...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

It's been hot. In summer I switch my shop hours to 8pm to whenever work is done, but it has not been any cooler at night haha Had my bum kicked by a tundra wheel bearing. Even with the special tools, I broke 2 presses. Then saw that dorman makes the axle with bearing AND backing plates and I had...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Spring is here in the garden state. It's really time to address some projects I've been avoiding because I keep failing. The kids have 2 trail master go karts and a Polaris 170. The go karts need clutches, one of them has a lot of idling issues. And the 170 is my arch nemesis. We had one great...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I saw your photos and then had to Google if bike stands were a thing! I can't believe I never knew these existed!!! Going to make spring bike "dewintering" so much easier!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Push back the boot a bit and see if it's full of fluid. There should not be a large amount of fluid there. If there is, that failing seal may be allowing in some air and causing noise. Some racks can be rebuilt when those seals go. Hope it's the pump for your wallet and free time's sake!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got both lifts back working. Scissor got a new motor and the quickjacks got a new down relay. One of my ceiling harbor freight retractable air hoses cracked. Got it in 2011 so pretty impressed it lasted this long. Got some cleaning done and brought in one of the projects to figure out a...

    QuickJack Sale!

If I'm using the post height extensions, I absolutely will use jack stands and just use the quick jacks to raise a truck enough to put the jack stands in. The lift extensions feel super sloppy to me and if you're working on something requiring jostling, I don't trust it. Some jobs like...

    QuickJack Sale!

That's the scissor lift I have also, I love it, got it in 2011 and have moved it twice (once rather violently haha). Have a different pump on it now which I'm draining to check out as something has failed. If you have room, both are great for different things. The scissor is great for front end...

    QuickJack Sale!

I have the 7k one, I don't trust it with pick ups as much, as I didn't get the long wheel base model. The other sketchy part is with the pad extensions on, I definitely just use it to put it up then lower it onto jack stands, those things are just too wobbly, especially if you have to beat off...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My work truck is a 93 crew cab long bed also. It's a monster towing, rwd, 5 speed and 4.10s. It's na but I have never felt I needed more as I really only use it for the car trailer. Mine is single rear wheel and I go back and forth about swapping to dually. I read some of your thread...

    Scissor lift motor issue

It's definitely full. This motor has the tank right with the motor. That's how I'm able to see all of the bubbles and foam, which aren't usually present. Found some info on checking the o rings on suction so going to start there as someone here suggested. Going to see if I can put car on...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I have a few IDIs, 2 projects and a work truck, cool seeing other ones out there getting some love! Today I'm diagnosing (or attempting to haha) one of the lifts and absolutely need to change oil in the compressor. When I got this shop in 2017, my first major expense was get the air installed...

    Scissor lift motor issue

Have had this 7k little scissor lift about 12 years, I forget the brand but it's from Greg smith equipment. Replaced the hydraulic motor in 2017. Motor was replaced due to it being damaged when moving in 2017. This morning there is a lot of bubbles and it will not lift Added to that, there's...
