I've had this EELD500 smoke machine since new in 2010. Wanted to see if anyone has had one apart. It keeps showing a low bat warning.

While it does have an option to use one of the original battery packs, it also has option of using alligator clips to the car battery, which is what I do.

It seems to show this warning when there's no leak. I smoke systems in sections so sometimes just a line, so there may not be a leak

The whole machine stops. That means you have to unplug, then plug in, then turn on and off the compressed air. It's a major pain in the... It's a pain

Right now I am sitting here about to lose my mind. I have 2 Chinese smoke machines here as well. One has died after a few years of use. I then got a brand new one that just arrived that isn't working at all.

So I'm trying to diag this poor old truck and make something work for now

Unfortunately, the company that made the Snap-On is long out of business. I went down this rabbit hole a few years ago even purchased another used one that disappeared in shipping.
I have had good luck with one like this, could have purchased 30 of these for what the Snap-on costs. Compact and puts out a lot of smoke, no need for shop air. Buy a couple if you need a backup on hand, for the price they are disposal.

Thanks for sharing!! That *****, but understandable. I got it to work to find some leaks, and my replacement arrived. But I'll check out this one as well. I do not want to be caught like this again ugh
