Socket set skips have caught up with me

I don't understand skip sets. I guess it's a way to lower the cost for the consumer but I regularly need those "unusual" socket and wrench sizes and sometimes need both at the same time!

    Selecting the Right Caulk Gun

I bought the dewalt cordless one when it was time to go though 15 or so tubes of 5200 on the boat. Works great for volume jobs but honestly I still use a manual version for anything smaller. The electrics take some getting used to and there is definitely (at least for me) a learning curve. I...

    Tools for old age....

What a timely thread. Just had my physical with the internal med doc and complained about my fingers aching and tennis elbow that makes using a nail gun or anything heavy or requiring grip strength painful. ***** and I'm only 54.... Lift made all the difference in the shop and air...

    PVC pipe air system

That's just messed up. Made me fall into a cold sweat... Love me some rapidair. When building the big shop I looked at all the options and ended up getting two rapidair kits. They don't leak, easy to install, etc.

Rental of 5 ton AC unit

Interesting. Your ceilings are about 3 feet higher than mine but my 60x40 is 70 deg right now and it's 98 outside. AC turned itself off. Agree completly though that 5T isn't going to support 3200 sq ft

Rental of 5 ton AC unit

Sorry guys, while at the age of 54 I have recognized the fact that I can't multitask worth **** my equally crappy memory is starting to cause me to still attempt it. It's a 5 ton heat pump with air sock. Works great.

Rental of 5 ton AC unit

Nope won't cool it. Mine is 60x40x14 2x6 stick built and fully insulated. 5K unit keeps it cool but it is not over sized at all. If I open one of the big roll up doors it takes a hour or so to bring it back down to temp.

New a/c for shop.... not impressed

Yes even across the whole shop. The holes in the sock are created for the specific area to be cooled. In my case I didn’t want to lose the ceiling height in the middle of the shop so chose one side. The holes are in the bottom and side of the sock at angles to evenly spread the air.

New a/c for shop.... not impressed

Here you go. 5 ton system in a 2x6x14 stick built and insulated. It’s about perfectly sized for the space. One drop down to the office area.

Is Mike Tacoma still making blast cabinet retrofit kits for HF blasters?

I bought a bunch of stuff from Mike a couple years ago and upgraded my blast cabinet. Workmanship was really nice and all top quality stuff. The cabinet never clogs now and is soooo much easier to use and faster. I got the foot pedal, gun, hoses, drain/pickup and I think a block off plate or...

New a/c for shop.... not impressed

duct work does look a bit small. I used a 5 ton unit for a 60x40x16 inside dimension, stick build, insulated and dry walled. It just plugs into a airsock running at the ceiling the 60' length. Keeps it nice and chilly in the summer and warm in the winter. I got mine from...

    60 x 40 Shop/Garage Build

Sorry for the uber slow reply, been on the road. Have come a long way on the shop and there are always new projects to take on. Installed a lift and it's gotten plenty of use already. Built a welding table out of 1/2 plate 4x6 and 4x4x1/4 square tube. It must weight a thousand pounds... lol...
