Thanks for the brochure share I have not seen that before. I did not realize they made so many sizes. I will have to get all mine out and see what is there. I know I have a real small one and one with at least 6 inch jaws ans some in between. I rarely find one. Good to hear from you!

I picked up this Stephens coach makers vise a few weeks ago. I have never seen another coachmakers version like it. Love the look of the slide set.

I haven't been on here in a long time but I caught this. What a monster!! What i can't believe is that it only got 5 or 6 responses. This is the best vise to appear on here in years and nobody is talking about it. :headscrat I honestly quit looking on here much because I don't want to see...

Yes this is a Railroad vise. Chicago, Saint Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha RR. I got one about 3 years ago and it came from a RR shop in St. Paul. I saw another at the LeSueur MN swap meet a couple years ago but it was too high. For some reason it says 7" jaws on the side but has 8 inch jaws and...

Bcom - Congrats on the 4C it is one of my favorites. At one time I had 14 of them but sold some of the newer ones. There were a lot of them sold in the refinery and oil business as well as natural gas plants. Every plant I have ever been to has had reed "C" series vises.

The 4 hole 109 is 297# which is what the literature says but I did weigh it. Somewhere on here I posted the entire Reed catalog but that was years ago. I will see if I can find it.

The Reed 109 will go inside. I am making a vise stand out of some big iron. I will post it here when I get it started. It sould weigh about 1000# when I'm done. Actually my wife has never really questioned the vice for vises much. She is very very understanding. What you don't realize is that I...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here is the other Reed 109 I got this summer . Notice it has the 4 bolt pattern to hold it down. I am guessing it to be earlier than the one Kevin just finished but not sure. My earliest Reed catalog says it is catalog #37 and it had all the telegraph codes listed in the rear so I know it is old...

The train behind the reed 109 is made by American amusement co. It is bigger than it looks. It has an engine from a 9n ford tractor. It will run this summer if I want to continue to live at my house according to my wife! Got to get it going for my kids.

I found this an old Mill and steam supply catalog. I had a chance to buy one of these post vises this summer but he wanted $500 so I passed. It has teeth on the back for quick adjustment.

Trijeff - A reed 107 will bring at least $600-800 all day long. I have been watching a lot of stuff sell lately at auctions and other places and all these old blacksmith vises are really high. A reed 107 is a hard one to find anyway. I've only ran across two in all my hunting. They were an odd...
