Thanks for the kind words guys! I'm totally in love with this box. It was the demo box off the Snap On truck, but if has one small dent, and a small paint chip that would only really be noticeable if you knew to look for it. I think normal retail for the box and top on the Snap On website...

Glad to hear that. A functioning pit is so cool and so uncommon to find in a garage, and it's cool that you actually used it for its intended purpose. If you're still thinking of doing something else with it like put a compressor in it or what not, wait until most of your garage reno is done...

Z3 M coupe is the only BMW I'd consider a keeper in my collection if I had to get rid of my 2002. I work at an independent BMW repair shop and we just finished putting a new S52 in to a Z3 M Roadster that managed to hydro lock its original engine.

This is totally my favorite garage on the forum. It looks super cozy and very quaint, but looks like it's turning in to a very efficient work space as well. Look forward to seeing more progress, and some projects you'll be doing in there.

Are older ratchets typically better quality then the low end market ratchets today? I didn't even realize that craftsman made high end ratchets as the sears near me doesn't carry a whole lot of product.

I just assumed that at least some of them were, because that seems to be the route most manufacturers are going these days. And my new ratchets no longer say made in the USA like the old ones did. I have this style of Crafstman ratchet and it feels terrible, especially compared to my Snap On ones.

Just wondering what the deal is with all the old/vintage ratchets? I see all these threads about good finds at fleamarkets and how much people here love and use their old ratches and I was wondering what makes them better than any modern ratchet? I understand your new made in China craftsman...

I would have absolutely zero desire to get under any hoist that wasn't bolted down. Sure, it's nice to have the portability, be realistically, how often are you gonna be shuffling and repositioning your hoist? In the event of an earthquake or uses error (it CAN happen to anyone) wouldn't it...
