The rivets do not come with the hardware. I found some bolts that have smooth heads on them. I found them disguared at work being thrown out and because I am a Bolt & Nut freak i picked them out before they were thrown away. They work great. The original rivets are not like the ones you can buy...

Searspartsdirect.com I would suggest to order early. They get backordered alot. Find a box that most resembles your box. If it is not a Craftsman then you have to match them as best you can.

Questions about restoring old tool boxes

What I would do is take a picture of the decals and take measurments of the decal as well then take it to a local sign shop and have them reproduce it. I have done this several times and they turn out awesome.

    A suggestion

I was reading a thread about restoring a tool box and the thought came to me that there should be a place where we can put all of the threads about restoring Tools and Tool Boxes. I think that we have enough members on here that would contribute there expert opinion and suggestions. Just a thought.

Another Vintage Snap On box is restored

Have fun with the nameplate. I tried several different ways and finally settled on a Sticker over the original nameplate and it looks awesome. Let me know if you need one. I have a couple left and I can get more. When I did mine it was the one thing that frustrated me more than anything.
