They sell a flimsy looking stand on wheels for them so I agree that the frame handles all the stress of the spring. As long it doesn’t fall off the wall when the strut is mounted you should be good.

That isn’t horrible. A bit more beat up than I would expect. When you get it wear gloves and clean every surface inside and out with a real disinfectant like Cavicide.

Look for anything from VWR (private label) or Thermo, you can even get vacuum ovens relatively cheap on the secondary market. They should be large enough for a few spools. They will typically also have a pass through on the top to put a thermometer in that you can use to bring the filament out...

Anybody have any recommendations for plastic storage bins that will not get sticky in a hot attic? I had some of the blue Rubbermaid bins that have all turned into a sticky mess. I would like something plastic and reasonably well sealed for clothes and other household item storage.
