Materials for garage ceiling--Metal VS 4x8 panels

I was JUST in my garage this week staring at the ceiling, wondering how I will finish it... Then this thread gets revived! It MUST be a sign...

Fix Tip: LiftMaster 3800 loose position sensor gear

Lift Master 3800 loosing travel set points Wow. I wish I had seen this post sooner. I started having issues with one of my three 3800 openers. It would try to shut past the set point, then re-open due to excessive force. I would reset the travel setpoints. It would work for a day or two...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

FAIL... You really do "get what you pay for" most of the time. I figured for the price I would give these a shot. It wasn't even two days in the yard hacking shrubs when they bit the dust :) IMG_0859 by rich_j11, on Flickr

    My new garage

I don't do real HEAVY work out there, but it still looks brand new it most places. The center stall where my lift is gets the most use. It has more oil and grease marks, but I'm positive if I got down and put some elbow grease to it, it too would look fabulous.

    My new garage

Wow, it's probably been way over a year since I cleaned the RaceDeck. It was pretty grubby looking. But I still love the flooring. A wet mop and it cleans up very nicely!

    My new garage

Well, out of the blue I get a PM asking a question about my build so I go through and check out the thread. Wow, almost a year since I posted! Not much has changed there. I'm back in Japan working but will be home soon. I have a few new things in the garage since I posted last. I hadn't...

    My new garage

I'm loving the Liftmaster Jackshaft openers. Think I may be close to getting another to install on the attached garage :) Pretty simple to install, but you do need an outlet close by... The light that comes with the opener does get plugged into a 110 outlet, but it is wirelessly "synched"...

Installed a wireless router in my garage last night

Funny thing, I was just reading an article about WEP, WPA, etc.... If I had any neighbors close enough to leech my signal, I might be worried... I'm not worried. :)

Installed a wireless router in my garage last night

When I finally came out of the stone age and DSL became available in my area, I was in heaven! I was amazed at how many devices in my home would use the internet if I could connect them (satellite receivers, TV's, game consoles, tablets, etc). Also having the coverage from a single router was...

    My new garage

Oh yeah, that ceiling.... Would like to "finish" it, but still haven't decided how yet. I always seem to find other things to do or end up working too much. Maybe my ceiling will be my never ending retirement project?

Thanks! Was out for a MR2 group drive a few weeks ago and there were a couple nice 2nd Gen turbos out there. I might need to find me one :) Thank you! Ody, WOW! I sat down and read your comment then ended up reading your entire build thread. VERY nice. Thanks for sharing. I absolutely...

    My new garage

Wow, hard to believe it's been a year since I updated this. Of course I spent a lot of that year out of the country again for work. I'm still loving the RaceDeck. Pretty easy to keep clean and takes abuse quite well. While I was in Japan this year, my wife picked up a broken neon sign. A...

Sears Shop Your Way 15% off til 7am

Yes, you need some kind of "PIN" to use your points. I was surprised I had $90 worth of points, some expiring at the end of June. I was able to go to the website, access and reset my PIN to something I could remember. Also printed out a membership card. http://www.shopyourway.com/rewards...

    My new garage

The wall height is 10'. The building posts are 6X6's and the doors are framed with 4X6's... I'm not a drywall guy, nor even a casual observer. I think if I had installed the drywall myself, I would have done it all skewed with broken edges everywhere :wtf: He did put some additional framing...
