They had the best price I could find. I bought three, essentially the third was free. My door installer said that was less than he could buy them for. Great openers, you'll love them!

I have a question on the Porter Cable. Are you able to orient the blade in any direction. IE; left & right or only straight ahead.

I'd go with the finish gun for a cleaner look. If you want to screw, look for finish screws for cabinets. They have a small head and install with a #1 sq head bit.

I've been thinking about doing this also. I have 14' span that would be a perfect spot for it. I'd like to know if a 6" beam is strong enough or should I go taller. 4x4 fir posts would be a good support. I'm pretty sure they make microlam posts now which would be stronger. Or steel would be best :)

I have an outswing in my shop. An outswing is harder to kick in. I can open it all the way and prop it against the outside wall. I have a two step drop on the inside so an inswing would have been a pain, on top of wasting all the space in a 36" radius.

Looks great. The only thing I would change would be to shove #4 into #6 :thumbup:
