    ICF's or regular poured walls?

My basement was done with ICF walls and footings, the concrete floor is very warm and heat and AC are cheaper. My dad and I also did our shop foundation with ICF, did about 6 foot wall. Alot of bracing is necessary and we still had a small blowout, but as far as I can tell that's the only downside

Show me your shovel and long handled tool storage

I call it a shovel tree, basically its a seven foot pipe welded to a disk blade and some half inch rebar welded on for the hangers. It holds 20-24 shovels and only takes up about 3'x3' of floor space Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

Who's got the oldest Pole Building.

I'm in South Dakota and we have a 60x80 pole building built in 1979 on the farm. In the last few years the post are starting to rot at ground level, this is where I think either putting them on or in concrete would solve that problem. As for the skirt board, my dad poured a small about 12-18"...

Why do some pole barns have their poles set in concrete and others don't?

I would think that the concrete would help stop the building from settling as well as prevent post rot, the only ones straight in dirt that I've seen are pretty old Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

Help me decide - which tool chest / work bench combo!

Why not put the box in the bench like such http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126086 Very popular bench here on GJ, if it were me I'd run a straight bench as I'd just clutter the corner Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Mac tool box value

I've been thinking about selling this box as I don't have much use for it but I haven't seen any similar ones for sale in my area to get a starting price. Its a 26", has few scratches but nothing major, 13 bearing drawers, and original liners still in good shape. So anyone got ideas on what...

    30x50: 30 wide or 50 wide?

When I bought my house I had the choice of mine or the neighbor house both shops were 30x40 mine being the wide way with three doors and the neighbors the deep way with one large door, and I'm still not for sure which is best but with a hoist I think the deep way may be nice so you could have...

    Blown up compressor tank

Actually oil works quite well as diesel but in my previous post I just meant if it got hot enough/ over pressure/ exterior spark source kind of situation would be what OSHA would find to explode Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

    Blown up compressor tank

I would guess the wrong oil could end up going past the rings more than compressor oil, and when the vapors are under pressure they would become fairly combustible or something along those lines Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2
