I race lawn mowers and all the guys in my club say a 110 version is plenty. I think a 220 would be a better option but I would have to do some electrical to get a 220 plug put in. I know several who use the hobart 140 and love it.

Yes I prefer cat 5 over wireless especially on new construction. I have tried a few wireless things in the past but I am happier with quality of hard wired speakers and cameras.

I would love one of those fans but they are so expensive. I will put plugs for wall mounted fans though. I will have power for undercab lights also. I am not sure I will ever put a tv out there though? I almost forgot the security camera wires. And some speaker wires. Sounds like your dad...

southernfried Thats also one reason I am doing a sealed crawl space cause it will keep the floors a lot warmer. Good to know the average ton cost also.

My crawl space will be 32" at the front of the home and increase to about 48" at the rear. The lot has a gradual fall to it.

Based on the load tests it should take a 3 ton. The home will be well insulated as well as air sealed. The cost you are paying for the 3.5 ton is what I am used to paying for a home on a slab. Actually about $5500 for a 12-1400 sq ft house. Which is why I thought my quote was high. A guess...

He was actually recommended by the company that does sealed crawlspaces. They recommended him cause he is a small operation. Just him and his son. We are going to run a manual J and other tests to make sure we got equipment right. Hoping this might reduce the cost some.
