Thanks for the reply Chopper. The tray is the right length, I hadn't noticed how short it looks in the photo.

Unfortunatly, I'm too far away right now. If I was at my house in Maine, I'd take a run up to get it. About a 3 1/2 hr drive.![]()
Really like that Matco. What's the length and front to back depth measure? Any idea how old it is?
Way cool, Jim

So even with a 24" depth, you only get 18" deep drawers... dang shame.
Identical to the Craftsman box I use for my welding stuff, except for the badge & colorI got this one today date code 1986.
Its 29 wide x 30 tall x 18 deep

see that confused me. Ok its same drawer design as my 1970's but I didn't know the made brown. The badge threw me off too. Sears/ craftsman badge? I figured it old but date tell mid 80's.Identical to the Craftsman box I use for my welding stuff, except for the badge & color![]()

It is 51" wide X 24" deep x 40" tall. Here are some pics of the back storage.
It still holds quite a bit, and the price was right when I buoght it about 8 years ago for $250.![]()
That helps date mine as there's no date stamp on itsee that confused me. Ok its same drawer design as my 1970's but I didn't know the made brown. The badge threw me off too. Sears/ craftsman badge? I figured it old but date tell mid 80's.
Have a good one, Gerard

Does the box usually sit out where you can access the back panel?
Yeah, I don't mean to diss your box, it is a nice one and that was a great price, but if those drawers were full depth, That would be dang near my ideal roller, and would have gone high on my "search for a deal" list. No wasteful overly deep drawers, and a nice big drawer on top for sockets and drive tools...
Well shoot, I claim a senior moment. I must have looked for a date stamp on this thing at least 4 times & now I see itIs there no date on bottom right.
Clauk mark is where I found it.

Glad you found it. I would think Waterloo hearing that they did make for craftsman. I'm learning myself with these vintage boxes. Now if I can just figure out the Kennedy machinist boxes branded as Craftsman with the crown logo.Well shoot, I claim a senior moment. I guess the *W* is for Waterloo![]()

I just can't stop buying these little old metal tool boxes with the leather handles. this one is in amazing shape and i'm guessing late 30's or 40's made?
i bought it's relative that has a Dunlap (Sears/Craftsman?) from a 95 year old client a few months ago that told me his was his first tool box when he went to work at Boeing after WWII.
anyway not much to do to this on except to decide what to fill it with. it's an SK so curious did they make their own boxes or did somebody else because the Dunlap looks like the same box and even the Craftsman looks fairly close?
pictures of my new SK box with tray and the 95 year old's with some of his old tools in it that was definitely used more.
is this Cornwall maybe a 40's box because it looks almost identical to one i have that is a 1943 Craftsman branded one. did Cornwell make these boxes or who made them????
