I did wonder as the styling is very much like my other snap on air tools, guess it sits between snap on and blue point?

Sioux is an industrial brand, their facility designs and makes quite a few Snap-On tools as well. I wouldn't call it a step down from Snap-On, more of a side step.

Yep. They are made right here in NC if I'm not mistaken. I used a lot of their tools when I was in A&P school. I thought they were top notch myself.

Yup its marked Murphy NC :) I guess they market them in a similar way to Williams tools (which we don't get over here to my knowledge) at least in America, as Snap on franchises seem to work a bit different over here.

Regardless its a nice bit of kit :)

I sure do like the looks of those Protos, Strouty. There just still a little pricey for my needs, though. Enjoy 'em some for me. :bounce:

Now that was a wallet workout!:scared:

I still can't sit down without hearing it scream.

I told my GF they were coming to bed with me.

Luckily, I am selling some of my other wrenches and I also sold a bunch of surplus supplies from my previous line of work. Right now I am only out of pocket about $450 and once the rest of the wrenches are sold, I should be closer to even. Of course the plan is to buy the gearwrench 120XP double box end spline wrenches and the wrightgrip wrenches, so I guess there goes another $900! Easy come easy go. :D

13 armstrong 1/4 ratchets and 2 3/8 armstong ratchets

2 sets of matco metric long pattern combination wrenches both 8mm-19mm

Armstrong 1/4 socket ans rail set

16 piece gearwrench ratcheting wrench set

Just seen this on the news...i guess you never know http://wavy.com/2015/03/16/thieves-lift-70k-in-tools-from-small-business/

I don't actually have it yet, but I just grabbed this on ebay for $21.50 shipped! :bounce:
10" long. The seller claims made in France. ( I thought this style was always made in Italy, but maybe they started in France?) Either way I'm happy.

The last thing I need is another 3/8" ratchet, but I just couldn't help myself...

Who knows?
I dunno man. I highly doubt a Matco truck would be selling the cheaper Armstrong equivalent tools along side their hard line stuff.

Oh that makes a sick feeling. I hope it isn't so. :(

Different town, different state, (mostly) different brand... I'm not sure I'm seeing the relation?

Ya never know and the timing sure is odd as was the quantity of items. I hope it ain't so too. But lets hope he does the right thing and contacts the police department just incase. I've taken a couple of major hits before and let me tell you something, when you find out you just got nabbed for several tens of thousands of dollars, it's a very sickening experience. Even with insurance, he likely has a very high deductible (mine was 10K) just to be able to afford it. And now his insurance company is going to want every dime back, so his rates if he can even get insurance again is going to go through the roof.

I got this to use on my truck. Cman 3/8" drive 25-250 ftlb. Anyone else have one. I didn't feel the click in the handle at all. Set it at 37 ftlbs where I needed it and nothing. I ended up borrowing a friends to finish up my truck

Most clickers aren't recommended for use at levels under 20% of the full torque rating, so your wrench might not work accurately and reliably at any torque under 50ftlbs. Also, are you sure you didn't buy an inch pound wrench, because they don't make 250 foot pound torque wrenches with a 3/8" drive? If yours is in fact an inch pound wrench it won't work even when set at max, because 250 inlbs is equivalent to 20.8 ftlbs.

Torque wrench accuracy is for the full spectrum of the designated range, its below or above that is the problem.

Every Matco and Snap-On truck I've been on (in 2 different states), the drivers have had Gearwrench sets "He got a deal on" and was flipping, so I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Armstrong if someone got a deal, and could flip them for a good profit.

Unless im grossly mistaken a lot of those guys actually are GW distributors although most do it just to offer the wrenches.

Yeah it is inch pounds that was my mistake. I miss read it. Now I gotta go to sear and get me the foot pounds one haha they rate that 10-75 ftlbs

Received my 12v mac (dewalt) BEP038 yesterday. Was curious to see how it matches up with the SO equivalent 14v 3/8. It's slightly bigger, about the same in weight, I don't like the trigger on the SO, I feel there's more control of power with the mac. The So feels more powerful even tho the mac has a higher torque rating(haven't put the mac to use yet, based only on trigger pulls with no socket attached). Kit came with two batteries, charger and bag $299. I believe SO is $399, correct me if I'm wrong someone.

That's an older ratchet probably made before Stanley bought Facom. All of Facom used to be made in France. It wasn't until after Stanley bought Facom that the palm control ratchet manufacturing moved to Italy.

Good to know!

Do you happen to know if a current Italian rebuild kit will work in the older French ratchets?

I have the exact ratchet I purchased it over 10 years ago but was not impressed by how bulky it was compared to a teardrop. It sat unused for a while until I joined GJ and discovered what a nice tool it is. So it come back out still brand new but it would not turn. I followed some posts on how to lube it as the original lube was white and dried up (probably from sitting in my tool box all that time unused). so i took it apart, cleaned out the old lube and re-applied using Superlube and i have used it since. Oh Yeah it is made in France. Enjoy!

Got a Acetylene/Oxygen (10cft/20cft) Uniweld brand w/ braze torch and Reelcraft 3/8"x50ft for $180 OTD yesterday.

The Uniweld guages look pretty high quality, much different than what I've see in other brands over the years looking for cheap kit.

I don't know much about Reelcraft other than professionals use them and they're made in USA. What do y'all think?

Picked up an 13 Piece 3/8-Inch Drive 6 Point 1/4-Inch to 1-Inch Deep Socket Set.

Not too shabby for $40 shipped from an Amazon merchant.
