The info on the balls that often get lost is helpful.
What does Sears do with the left over parts from ratchet rebuilds ?
Trash or are they saved ? I could use some clips from the 3/8 RHFT and LL
Can you order the kits from Sears?
Ratchet # 43784

Last I knew you could order them through sears parts direct. Which kit are you looking for?
Thanks for posting! I could not find my ratchet in the table though, it's a 1/2" flex head quick release #44984. It's an older USA made unit. I've looked up kits on eBay but get conflicting information on what actually fits my ratchet. Can anyone shed some light?

ch:In the PDF it says that the China ratchet has improvements for enhanced dirt filtration.
Does that mean that Chinese ratchet is superior to USA ratchet? That's weird considering that in popular culture the opposite is claimed about chinese tools :/

I took apart my 1/2 Craftsman ratchet to clean and grease, and I lost a part by the switch lever. I have the spring, but I think there was a ball bearing on top of the spring that engaged the switch lever.
Craftsman Repair kit is 44784, which is no longer available. Any ideas for a work around to replace the missing ball bearing, or spring cover?
I don't have the ratchet in front of me, but believe it is a 44974. thanks Rich

looking for repair kit craftsman kit number 43446 any out there?

Here are part numbers.
The torque wrench is 44443. The 1/2" ratchet I used for parts is 44985, and the kit for that ratchet is 43447. Both the ratchet and kit are discontinued. But I see plenty of those ratchets at the flea market. Or see if your local Sears will take parts out of that ratchet which was traded in.
The older version of this ratchet, the one with the oil hole, is 44975. But this will not work because the pawl is a bit different, as it has what Adam calls a D-post pawl. But I think the gear might be the same - I did not look when I saw the pawl was different. My older torque wrench which was made in 7/76 has a D-post pawl. My made in 5/78 torque wrench in the above pictures has what Adam calls a tang pawl.
AFAIK there are no kits to be had for the pre-model number 'flying V' =V= ratchets.
If it has sentimental value to you your best bet may be a donor ratchet off ebay. Still plenty to be had for around what the cost of what people on ebay typically would want for a kit in any case.

BTW, did we have a cheater on that or what?
