I got mine last night.

I'm seriously impressed with the jack. The welds are absolutely top notch and everything appears to be very high quality. As everyone said before...damn that thing is heavy.

So... I decided to take a gamble and buy one last night. BIN was $88.99.

I placed my bid, paid via paypal, checked my paypal and it went through.

About 30-60 min later, I get an email that my "Sam's Club" membership it active. Then another email confirming an order has gone through. Hmmm...

The order used my name and my Ebay email (I don't use this email much). There is a x'ed out CC number that shows the last 4 digits of a card. It does not match any credit cards I have. So that's good.

They bought a kids play kitchen for ~$250 plus the membership ($45).

My name (matches my paypal/ebay name) is on the invoice. But is being shipped to a house in a dense neighborhood in Alabama.

I called Sam's Club and told them the story. They canceled the transaction.

Not sure why the people who did this wasted $45 on a membership and bought something both large, not easily sold and converted to cash.

So be aware that if you bought one, the seller may use your info and buy somthing some place else.
who was the seller, best to avoid him.

I don't know, but chris_1001's sam's club email sounds like it might have been part of some phishing scheme, that might or might not have been related to his recent ebay purchase. I hope the number he used when he called sam's club wasn't a number he got from the email. If so it's possible it wasn't really sam's club.

My first attempt got pulled before the seller even accepted the payment.
The 2nd one got shipped and made it to about 10 miles from my house when it got recalled by "the shipper". Shipper being HF--who couldn't give me a reason on the phone because i wasn't the seller.
Both those were buy-it-now sales. I've noticed many more auction sales conclude and don't get pulled so now I'm trying the auction route.

Unfortunately after I got my shipping notice for jack #2 I got rid of my old floor jack so now I have nothing.

You guys who got yours without complication are lucky.

The seller was:

court8900
TUPELO, MS US

I checked the (Sams Club) number before I called. I figured it may be a fake one before I called.

I'm happy to hear no other reports of people here had the same experience I did.

It was stupid to use my info. Hope they sit and wait for it for a long while. Sams club canceled the order and I got the cancellation notice. Since they used my email I'm sure they will not know it was canceled.

I'm guessing I'll never see it. Never got a shipping notice.

I'm sure it was related. As I said, this email is not one I really use and this was less than an hour after my purchase.

That's the one I almost ordered from.

It would be useful if each member who reports receiving a jack, a cancellation, or notable event like this one, would list the seller they used.

I ordered from sungsung32 today, payment was accepted but it's not shipped yet.

I ordered 2 from the possibly BAD seller "court8900". Payment was accepted, item not shipped yet. Going to download all bank transactions now and check for anything suspicious.

We shall see......

You guys are killing me. You know there is something illegal going on here and you're publicly discussing how to get your jack before the seller gets caught and your jack gets recalled. Getting caught or not isn't the point.

No one knows that there is anything illegal going on. We may have suspicions, but no way to know what the deal is.

When I ordered mine none of the listings had been cancelled before the seller sold out of the quantities listed. All I knew was that it was a deal that sounded almost too good to be true. I figured HF was liquidating these things - something I still cannot rule out. It wasn't until after ebay cancelled my transaction I even suspected there might be something wrong going on.

Whe I spoke to ebay customer service they would not tell me why my transaction had been cancelled after I had already paid for it and after I already had a tracking number for it showing it was coming from Harbor Freight. They were interested in getting my tracking number from me , which they checked and all they would say was that they were happy for me that it looked like I was going to get what I ordered.

Yes, what people will do so save $80 is pretty bad. I mean, it's blatantly obvious now this is a forwarding scam, and all the people who had their CC stolen are not going to be happy.

I did call HF distribution center, and they verified it was a running scam. They couldn't figure it out until all these pissed off CC companies started to contact them. Hence why orders are now being canceled.

I'm glad I didn't partake, wasn't worth it to me.

LOL, we don't need to go through a courtroom procedure to pretty well know somebody, somewhere is getting ripped off for something. I don't want to cast aspersions, but this stinks to high heaven. The only good from this will be HiBall tearing his down and reporting.

I highly doubt a merchant recalls legitimate shipments. You do know they will have to pay the carrier to get it shipped back, right? They aren't spending that money without reason.

Your right, They are blowing a brand new product for them out at half price with free shipping on a hundred pound item.

Don't need to be a detective to know this doesn't pass the sniff test.

I still don't see a problem with giving an American who I talk to every single week, know each others family, and will provide unquestioned support 500 dollars to bring that snap on jack right into my shop.

I have bought a lot of "too good to be true" deals on ebay, about 80% get shipped, half of these are not as described, meaning wrong item or broken or some other reason the seller forgot to mention in an effort to pass off ****, and the rest are a true deal. I have never suspected stolen before, but in this case it's becoming obvious that they are stolen ebay accounts using stolen cc numbers. I personally wish I wouldn't have participated because someone is going to eat this, and now my personal information including name, address, email, and phone are in the possession of fraudsters.

Why are people worried about them getting your credit card info? When you pay with paypal they don't get or see any of that info.

As for someone getting your name, address and phone number I hope you don't think all that was secretive. Everyones basic info like that is saved and blasted by lots of scam places already if you have done any online buying in the past, hence all the spam phone calls and junk mail you get all the time.

Of course information is out there, but I don't really want to draw the attention of people who pull this kind of garbage to me specifically.

Well, how about ordering the AMERICAN MADE Hein Werner jack from Auto Body Tool Mart for $455.

I don't know about shipping. It might be free.

FWIW Hein Werner floor jacks are no longer made in USA. They now say "assembled in the US from globally sourced components". Unfortunately a lot of sellers have not updated their sales pages to reflect this.

Not sure if it's been discussed. But there's another version out there. This was at a parts city (oreilys)

You are correct. My Snap On FJ200 (it says it right on the box) is assembled in the US with parts made in China. FJ300 is no different. The costs of FJ200/F300 are $555 and $635, respectively. You can almost buy four Daytona 3T jacks for a price of one FJ300. Not sure how many people will pay four times more for the near-same product. Some of my Mac Tools (Edge line) are made in Taiwan, which I would not have bought if I knew that before. My dad was a BMW/MB mechanic in Columbus OH and majority of his tools were Craftsman because of the cost. He only had a very few Snap On/Mac Tools/Cornwell but those were very expensive back then too. Many mechanics (including my father) do (did) not make a lot of money so buying expensive and over-priced tools is not a sound decision. Many companies are making their stuff from China because of cheaper labor sans healthcare coverage. People are sensitive to Made In China vs. Made In USA but it is not so black and white.

That Snap On jack might be boxed up in the US, but I figure all of the actual assembly is being done in China. I doubt very little "assembly" is being done in the US.

Received mine today. The box is larger than I thought. I'm keeping mine unopened for now pending a little more info on the "weirdness" we all suspect. FWIW: No eBay messages, seller is still on eBay, no "HF recalled the shipment", no PayPal messages, just a standard transaction.... My eBay console doesn't show as 'shipped' yet, but usually that's a seller who didn't update the order. I'll post back if there are any shenanigans.

Jwsia, expect yours soon if you haven't received it yet. :)

I told my wife about these jack shenanigans & the total lack of information from eBay, Paypal or HF about what's really going on. She asks "could SnapOn be pressuring eBay to pull the listings while the lawsuit is pending?" A very good question...
Apple did something similar not long ago.

I believe Milwaukee Hydraulics is the only U.S. company making and assembling their jacks here in the U.S.

I've had this one since '93 or so. It's a 2-ton Milwaukee and has never let me down.

Another benefit to having a relationship with an American tool dealer. I showed him that harbor freight comparison ad, said I wanted apples to apples, and I paid 500 dollars for the fj300

Again not trying to cause a ******* match. I'm sure the Daytona is a good jack. But when the thread turned into gambling with an ebay seller, I wanted to share how I prefer to handle business.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. What was your benefit?
