I will try to post a picture of the roof from our cabin later this week.

Thanks. That would be much appreciated.

I don't think the snow on our cabin roof is melting away anytime soon so I found an old one on my phone and zoomed in on it. Since this picture was taken we've installed side and eave "caps" that over lap the fascia.

This stuff has a textured, baked on finish of some sort. Up close it looks like rusty metal.

Hopefully this will upload. Had trouble that last few times I tried to upload pictures on GJ.

Funny, Didnt realize anyone was still looking at this. This is how the end product turned out. Ended up with 1/12 pitch with standing seam snap in. Ice/Water sheild was installed under the roofing. 4 years and counting ... 2 snow/ice storms and couple hurricanes.

The joist were Nordic Truss 14" I joists. Overall dimensions of the building ended up being 28x46. 12ft rear wall. They were placed on 12"OC spacing. The joists were trimmed down on the ends to allow for blocking and reinforcement for the cantilever overhang. This was done per the Nordic Truss manual. I was very happy with the Nordic product. The 2x8 subfacia for the 2x10 pine fascia to anchor into. I wasnt a fan of having a 14" thick fascia. I thought the tapered look worked well and the mitered TG soffit was the icing on the cake. Hope this info works for the next guy.

That looks great and is another good example for me to consider as we're looking to design something for our backyard. I don't have height limits to worry about but I'm also trying to find ways we can limit how much shade the building casts over the garden we have in the backyard.

it’s worked out pretty well in that regard, the only problem is when the yard was reseeded, light bouncing off the clerestory windows made a specific patch too sunny. So it took longer for the clover we seeded to get going in that one area.
