That' subjective.
Desire, supply and demand in your area, quality of drive, spare time to kill, friends to see & food to eat on the way........etc. Would the guy come down on price if I told him I would drive that far to pick up?

Where I live, that's only about 30 miles away on a typical LA traffic day:)

If it's turn key and the drive is pleasant, then possibly I would say yes. If the bearings in the arbor and motor are good with good run out and the Vari-Slo mechanism is working well then it's a smoking deal and the 6 hrs in car & money spent will be a lot less than the time that is usually needed to get another drill press working properly with the same variable speed performance. I doubt it will last long.

This on eBay if in great condition would probably fetch $450++.

This will give you an example of demand for these:

Thanks Larry. Gonna be in huge trouble with the misses now!

They were the same seller. Totally cool guys. I just got back with both presses. In decent shape and they both ran well. I'll probably start a thread cleaning them up. They also did 90% of the moving/lifting into my truck.

If anyone wants a vintage fully functioning 80 ton press for free they're gonna scrap it soon. I have their contact info.

Michael, if you're willing to part out the second drill press let me know. I have the same unit, but my table has the arc of shame from the high school I picked it up from. I'd like to replace the table with a better condition one if possible. If you're willing to part it out, or swap tables...

Most likely keeping both of them actually. The bigger one is actually on a craftsman base/table/pole so I'm 100% keeping those parts. The peace sign one I'm not sure of yet. I will let you know if I decide to part it. I have to tear into it later because there are some things mechanically wrong.

Oh and here's something very cheap from the Alameda CA. $100

I'm pretty sure that's a great deal if you have the space but I don't know much about lathes.

I'm pretty sure that's a great deal if you have the space but I don't know much about lathes.

Those are fantastic lathes (Powermatic model 90, 12" x 38" capacity) but 1st check the variable speed Reeves drive mechanism first, those can be trouble and really expensive to fix but if its just needing a motor, belt or switch then thats very easy and you're laughing for $100. Check to see if the motor is 3 phase but swapping it out for a single phase motor is rather easy & straight forward to do.

Those lathes were fairly common in schools and can now be had for About $350-$700 in working condition. Ask if there's any tooling for it.

I wish it was near me.

Odd that this is still listed several days later. Thought for sure it'd be gone at that price in a flash.

Either a scam or one of those guys who are too lazy to take down the ad gone after selling it. He has no phone number in ad so it's easy for him to disregard his inbox.

Ryobi Variable Speed Drill Press WDP1850 - $150 (Signal Hill, CA)

I'm not a fan of typical Ryobi tools but this not your typical drill press or typical Ryobi quality. These are in demand and few were made due to how expensive they were when they were sold new. Variable speed can be changed while running. Keep in mind the depth stop is missing. Has a Jacobs #33 spindle chuck taper so easy to put on a keyless chuck.

"Selling a very versatile Ryobi WDP1850 drill press and comes with rolling stand and drawer. Unique feature is the drill head moves up and down, not the table, so when drilling large items table stays stationary and height adjustment is quick and easy. The chuck speed adjustment is a simple turn of the handle on top, another great time saver. The Versa table is very quick and convenient to adjust and has a handy fence for repetition. 1/2" chuck, chuck key, after market light. All working, Solid shop drill press

Ryobi - Benchtop Planer No. AP1300 - $100 (Lakewood, CA)

These older ones get good reviews, owners are happy with them. Again, I'm not an advocate of typical Ryobi tools but $100 is probably a good deal if you have to mill some wood and it's a beefy 15 amps. Blades are still easily purchased online.

"Ryobi - Benchtop Planer No. AP1300, good condicion. $100. call or text.
Speed 9,900 rpm (no load)
Amps 15
Maximum Thickness 6 in.
Maximum Width 13 in.

We had a couple of these when I was a kid. Not sure why I didn't hang onto one. Heck, this could be one of them.
