I received these tools from a friend's Aunt. She was moving and they were in her shed. My friend didn't want them so I took them. It's too much to list but the sockets on the racks are Snap On's and one set of MAC sockets. The wrenches on the right are Snap On.

Wow! You ****!

Thursday's finds.

I went to an antique place that had 50% off of EVERYTHING. Owner has 2 truck loads of stuff coming from east coast and needed some room. Picked up the 1966 Ford yardstick and Craftsman pipe wrench for $5. I wanted the yardstick bad because I have a 1966 Ford Fairlane GTA

That afternoon a hatchet / axe collector I know stopped by and I traded a bunch of axes and hatchets for this Craftsman vise. It is apparently a later one with raised lettering, the earlier ones have a Craftsman oval heritage badge riveted on.

A guy I know stopped by Monday and said he was helping clean up a house being demolished and I could come pick stuff out. Nothing much but free is free! The Craftsman 4 way lug wrench was my favorite followed by the Mustang 1/2" drive ratchet that still works.

%#*@ One picture won't load after several attempts, already put the stuff away so will have to bring the stuff out and retake it.

Resized the picture and it finally took. The fireplace andirons are the best thing of the bunch.

What do I have here? plug/bung cutter? handle reads Pat JULY ** **(unreadable) - on the wood handle it says "the best"and I think there might be some writing on the other handled. Definitely cuts holes in wood, and because of the center, the "plug" would be useless. Since it is not adjustable, or marked with a size, I am guessing there was a standard size hole cut for something.
Not sure what I paid since it was in a bundle - but around $1 is the way I count items.

Today’s flea market finds. I already had one of these proto line wrenches in 3/4” and had been looking to make a complete set but hadn’t had any luck. Somehow I managed to find 4 sequential sizes from 2 different sellers.

OK VERY slow weekend:
Yesterday was piratically nada, only some magnet wire, a switch, and a lighter socket (all new) for $2 not even worth pics...

Today was more supplies. A partial bucket for $5 the bucket was tossed in after I made my "pile" and paid for it in lieu of a box or bag.

OK, its a half bucket, but nice and clean...

A passage lock and what I assumed was a small led work light, but turns out to be an LED aquarium light with a few red and blue LED's mixed in to balance the colors. - I'l still use it for a work light! Maybe a photo light for close ups?

Got one more stop planned for a late opener...

That is an auger for drilling holes in beams or logs for a log house or beam structure.

Check out these knockers! :lol_hitti

View media item 77078
Proto 3-1/2" and 2".

At $10 for the pair no haggle I was a happy camper.

View media item 77080
Found the Mac grabber pliers and Wiss Snips for $1 each at a yard sale coming from the flea market.

A/C brand 3/8 Reechet and Herbrand 1/2" S-7, I paid up a bit at $22 between two higher priced flea vendors.

View media item 77079
$19 for the rest here.

Mac magnetic screwdriver, Walden male extension, SK adapter.

Some interesting Euro stuff.

One stand had two pieced together motorcycle type tool rolls and some sockets. I picked out all the British and German stuff that they had. Some are ugly, but the price was right. I almost never see old British tools.

Top Sockets include 2 Metabo Rheidco, Irimo (Spain), Elora, unknown t bar head, Halfords 1/2" u joint.

4 Gordon sockets on the bottom.

Wrenches are Hazet combo, unknown German Whitworth DBE, 3 Mercedes wrenches, Gordon DBE, Williams (the other Williams) Superslim, Gordon DOE, and 5 nice Gray Canada metric combo wrenches.

I haven't had time to do any garage saling (saleing?) lately, but had some time today, and it was cool but sunny so: First stop didn't yield much, just a box of mostly used electrical stuff and a nice but cheapo caulking gun. Stuff I use a lot, and $5 sounded good.
Second stop the Craftsman saber saw with matching Power Bronze Crowntop box caught my eye. Verified it works. In the garage amongst all the yard tools (never have found a shovel that fits my hand) was a bunch of wrenches with outrageous price tags - I picked out the dozen that were USA - five =V= DOE's, a set from 1/2" to 1", a couple of S-K's and 3 metric DOE's with no brand. They look to me like later Thorsens, but they also resemble Proto/Challenger. Anyone recognize them? Kind of a long shot since they're so plain. Being half price day, I gladly paid $12.50 for the saber saw, and offered $10 for the handful of wrenches. He said an even $20 would do! That's a first!
Last, I got the Crafty Long C 15/16" x 1" and the American Scale 3 1/4" vise for $6. I probably overpaid given the vise's damaged main screw but maybe I can come up with a replacement somewhere or fabricate a plausible fix.
A fun day!

Calm down there, Mr. Weinstein, lol.

Outlaw That sounds terrible. Imagine the couples that unknowingly rolled up there on a first date.

"Two tickets to whatever movie is showing sir".

I imagine a few guys got slapped across the face when the movie began. :bounce:

Well, I never did, but I DID take a girl to the beach once, and picked one I thought was cool that I'd visited in the winter. It turned out to be an unofficial nudist beach, and the day we went was hot...

You can see where this went. No she wasn't thrilled... first and last date... :eyecrazy:

BFB, I have a couple of those Sabre saws! no box however... Great saws!

is yours the version with variable speed?

if you take the front of the casing off, you can repack the gears and what not with good grease, as the old stuff is surely dried up by now. I like Mobil 1 red synthetic... After doing that, it should last forever!

Friday's finds.

First sale had a SK wrench roll in the pictures so I drove to the other side of Shreveport to get there, about 30 miles from my house 1 way. Prices were decent, spent $34 total.

Pic 1, 2, 3: SK 6 piece SAE DBE wrench set in nice condition, SK 3 piece flare wrench set in nice condition, a Ziploc of stuff that had a pair of Craftsman keychain screwdrivers and the AC spark plug gage, another Ziploc had the Snap ON and Bonney 3/8" drive bits, a Craftsman wood bit in the pouch and a heavy duty turnbuckle. The weird tool? was described as a "whatsit".

So what is it?

The second sale started Thursday and had been picked over pretty good already. It was 25% off day though. I found the Craftsman Crown log wire brush knocked on the floor behind the shelf and scooped it up. The Lufkin folding ruler is in nice shape and I picked up the soap and cleaner to make my total $8 which became an even $6 after the discount.

 Good one.

Last year I went to the Dominican Republic and there were 4 or 5 people at our resort, European it seemed, who preferred to hit the beach in the buff. One girl was easy on the eyes.

There was also this ******* older woman with short hair floating past us in the water on a raft. My girlfriend said no way, that's a guy. I said look at the painted toe nails!

Bluebolt- That looks like hot stick tool. Not sure what it does though. Prying or separating something?

Edit- thats a great score on the SK!

3baygarage, if it helps it appears to be made of brass except for the thumbscrew. Only lettering on it is ABC and 66380 I already tried Googling that.

Sad to say, this is a one-speed. I'm kind of surprised they were even made variable. I've had a vintage JCPenney since new with variable speed, but it's something like 15 years newer - late 60's.
Yup, upon acquiring any vintage tool like this, first thing I do is lube it up. Sometimes the old grease more closely resembles clay.

Some pretty good finds this weekend guys. Tool pic is from last week. A crate full of wrenches and misc. tools I picked up for $20. Wrenches are SK, craftsman, and other misc. US makes. The four large sockets are 3/4 in. drive also SK. Ratchets are Husky and TRW. Also included was the coolant pressure tester. Not shown was a bunch of stuff I tossed in my donate pile, all cheaper India / China stuff.

The rest of the Pics are from an estate sale in one of the wealthier towns by me. Not a tool, but I've been looking for a decent mid-century desk for a couple years, and I finally saw this one buried in one of those horrible estate sales pics. So I figured I may have a shot at it. I got to the sale about 10 minutes after opening, and fortunatley it was still up for grabs. They had a $100 sticker on it, and they let it go for $75. It will need some refinishing, but overall it's in pretty solid shape. Made my weekend even though I had to work .

After Googling hot stick tool (with some trepidation on what I would see LOL) I found out it is a fiberglass pole linesman use for working on power lines and components. With that the part with the thumbscrew is a chuck blank and ABC probably stands for AB Chance, a manufacturer of hot sticks and accessories. Still haven't figured out the fork attachment. My neighbor is a linesman, maybe he will know.

I was planning on bombing this thread at the end of the year with all of the **** I picked up during 2017 but then decided it would be too much work. So I'll just post what I found last weekend.

I picked this up Sunday. I already have 3 or 4 Kennedy Machinists chest but this is my first Craftsman (made by Kennedy?). It was $50 at the estate sale but it was 1/2 off day so I picked it up for $25. Ironically a lot more than I paid for most of my other kennedys. The only reason I went to the sale was because they advertised machinist chests/toolboxes. Aside from the acid? stain on top where the paint melted off it's in great condition. Came with an original set of keys also.

Oh yay! My first you ***** and I get 3 of them.:rocker:

I didn't realize that craftsman crown top tool boxes had any value/were collectable. I pass on them all the time at the local garage/estate sales because I have way too many small toolboxes imo.
