1995 T-Bird with 45K on the clock! Literally driven by an 85 year old lady to and from church and the grocery store... Seriously! Single owner (I'm guessing bought on retirement) Pretty much immaculate.

All the above was free with the purchase of the bird! :pimpflash

Whatever; this will be SWMBO's daily driver, replacing a 95 Mercury Villager with 4X more miles on the clock...

Second Yard sale:

$50 for:

Old desk lamp, Drill press vise, Stanley, wood/Brass caliper, Cord I'll use to replace the frayed/dead cord on the lamp with, and a pair of 1967 Klein Stripping dykes.

A Marble's Skinning knife that I'm not sure was evern used...

Cast iron Plant pots. I may do some bonsai in these... It's been years.
The big one is 20" the small is 12".

Second Estate sale, a Burges "Sattelite" flashlight, if fair shap, and some aluminum angle, brass screws, clip for the flashlight hinges etc.

Home repair book from the 50's, soap, that wood pusher was a lucky find! I have a meat grinder that fits SWMBO's Kitchen aid mixer, and it's always been missing the pusher. guess what this fits perfectly? :rocker:

What are the odds? The turkey is for a buddy of mine. we are planning a spring turkey hunt if we get drawn, and this ensures he goes home with a turkey! :lol:

Last stop: Another estate sale. $20 and four knives.

An Edgeco damascas skinner (1980's?), A Gerber boot knife, A Buck 110 that is well used and is 1967-72, and a tiny little "hunting" knife, made in Spain.

The buck post clean up, compared to one with a new replacement blade. Lots of sharpening on this old one!

And that was my day for yard sailing!

Got the bird home and changed the oil. The ladies vacuumed the inside and "tape brushed" it. (former owner had a dog... lots of hair, but no "dog smell")

If you dust those spectacles for fingerprints you'll find mine on them. I was in that house around 11 AM today.

I agree - the only redeeming feature of the house was the "studio" upstairs with the large windows. My daughter thought that the **** rug was cool.

It is hard to find a good electric pencil sharpener these days. When my parents' old Panasonic died a couple years ago, I did a lot of research into the current options, and they were all pretty crappy in comparison. Ended up talking them into another old Panasonic off Ebay instead.

Tip to prolong electric pencil sharpeners' life, BTW: avoid sharpening colored pencils in them, use a small manual sharpener on those instead. The different ingredients in colored 'lead' are more prone to gumming things up (even with regular clean-out attempts).

The replacement I found for them was of similar age as theirs, and IIRC had previously been used in a drafter's office. It had always been used for non-colored pencils, and was in much better shape than my parents' old one (which had a mixture of colored and non-colored for most of its life) despite more frequent use.

We managed to get in three small estate sales today and much to my disappointment didn't come home with a new car. Just a bunch of old tools.
Here are some pictures of the haul from each sale in order. The Snap-on ratchet works and according to AA dates around 1929. The early 1/2" drive socket set is early S-K. The Thorsen Vee DOE will be a nice addition to my Thorsen Vee wrenches. I updated my '42 flashlight to lithium batteries thanks to the tutorial. Thanks for that!

It’s a drill index from the Cleveland Twist Drill Co and when I removed the corrosion from the corner turned out to be made of copper. Drill indices are one of my many weaknesses. I’ll post another shot after I finish cleaning it up.

Looks like a time capsule...always had Mustangs but rode in a few of those in the 90s.

I haven't seen any panasonics around here but there is the occasional good old Boston.

Another tip is to pull the shaving tray and look up inside at the sharpener blades & gear to get an idea of the overall condition.

It is stamped something like "PT CO MADE USA".

I was guessing this might mean Plomb Tools since there are some other Plomb items. But haven't found that Plomb (or PROTO) ever made anything like this.

Check the pics and see what you think. Hard to take pictures of this, the item is only 5 1/2 inches long and the shaft with the stamping is less than 1/4".

Thanks. They’re multi purpose, every company sold a version for making adjustments. I don’t know what PT Co stands for but I’m glad I asked you the maker. I recently saw a PT CO, and my first thought was must be Plomb as well. Wish I had bought it now. It was black hexagonal shape with two offset flat drivers, looked like the old A. Plomb marked. Can anyone verify Plomb?

If you look at old Plomb catalog btw, they say it was for drag link and brake adjustments.

damon: I can't find your post, but if it's the kind of offset screwdriver I think you're describing, with two blades on each end, with all flat or slot blades, they were usually each oriented in a different direction, giving the user multiple angles to approach overhung or otherwise inaccessible fasteners with the same handle. These kinds were also typically much smaller and much less robust than a forged steel shank with one forged blade on each end, usually orthogonal to each other, and had applications beyond automotive. Anyway, is that the case? Are the slot blades all oriented in different planes to each other?

Those little jobbies are great for turning the screws on old doorknobs, which are otherwise inaccessible due to the knob.

One sale this morning a few minutes from home. It’s the final day of a 3 day sale and they are very open to negotiations.

Found a 10g AerVoid thermal container marked $75. I offered $20. They can back with $35 and I grabbed a few more things and made a bundle which he accepted.

And here is what I bundled

3 bottle of awesome cleaner

1/4” cornwell ratchet. Was surprised it was still there.

Saturday was the first flea market of the year in my local area. I was pretty disappointed and figured the vendors would have restocked more over the winter. There were no decent German hand tools to be found. I decided to pick up a 220V B&D Jigsaw made in England and a cheap sander. It’s a pain in the *** dragging out a transformer to use my Bosch 110v stuff and I don’t like running it on 50 hz. Also got a wire brush, new file/rasp combo, some hooks for my peg board and a Bundesforst patch since I work with them a lot. Total 30 Euros. The exchange rate ***** so it was around $40, not a great deal by any means.
I am jealous of everyone back stateside who posts great deals from CL, garage and estate sales and pawn shops. It’s also nearly impossible to find reasonably priced tool boxes over here. The PX only carries the bottom line Craftsman junk. I wish I would have picked up a HF 44” before I moved over here.

Went to the local small flea yesterday. Found a few things. When I was about to leave, one of the Sunday vendors showed up. He says hey found something neat! Diamond Calk double ended adjustable!! Lays iton his sale table. picked it up before anyone else could. Price tag said $7. sold! Found the 6" versions od two old early 1920s wrenches I have the 8" version of. Hit thew flea again for the Sunday vendors and the weather turned. Cold and windy. One guy had a tote fulla ****. I spent 20 min diggin sockets out of it. He looks over says $5. SOLD!

I got this Utica Tools curved jaw channel lock (heavy duty feel) and Vermont Tool extractor set for $2.50 today. Tons of plumbing and AC stuff, but I'm too much of a noob in those areas to risk a buy!

we stopped by the place I got 4 of the 5 knives from yesterday, and I got into the garage, which I missed yesterday? :wtf:

First aid kit. I may restock this for the DD rig. its a good size. not too deep.

Some aluminum vac attachments; I ddin't notice til I got home these are Male not female so I may need an adapter.

Mostly small clamps, handle a throwing hatchet, I'll give to my son, a gouge someone ha been beating on (WHY do people do this???)

Odds and ends, including a can of old school white lead, apparently unopened (and heavy as heck for its size...) Hole, jig and circular saw blades, Teflon tape, brass fittings, Chuck keys, two are Jacobs, key chain fob.
