How about an adjustable front end suspension tool date stamped 1964.

Can’t picture its use..

Catalog describes it as adjustable height for Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Plymouth, Desoto, front end work on ball joints, spindles, coil springs, control arms.
Sorry for the delay, don't check this thread very often. If the part with the female threads has a divot on the end opposite the bolt, it's probably for popping ball joint studs out of spindles. I made a similar tool, works good. You would loosen the nut on the stud you wanted to remove a couple threads, insert this tool between the 2 ball joints, and use the tool to pop the stud out by opening it up.

Got a nice 1959 Snap-On L-710 Half Drive Ratchet today....

It's in great shape to be 59 yrs. old and it's super heavy (could be used as a weapon)

Those are cool ratchets. Found this bluepoint punch set. Looks unused! Big ones are 51 and look great. Little guys are 49 and a bit rusty...

That is actually a 1952 date code. The 1942 sockets are different in appearance.

Found these two at a Nevada garage sale today. The bits are rusty but the ratchet function works fine.

Picket up this odd ball Snap on L67 ratchet at a flea market this weekend. From what I found it was built under government contract and has the cadmium or zinc plating typical of the WW2 era production. The patent was issued in 1934, but it doesn't have a date stamp indicating an early production model.

Lucky. That is a highly desireable rat. What did you have to give for it so I know how jealous I am?

$12, My jaw dropped when I saw what they are going for on EBay.
Almost didn't get it since I'm on the old tool wagon... it was so unusual I couldn't resist. He had a few old Snap on sockets, If he's there next week I'll get them to go with the ratchet.

I picked up this trio of Snap-on pieces at my flea market this morning. See Pic 1.

The 4-1/2" No. 5 Vacuum-Grip midget pliers have what looks like either a 1939 or 1949 date code to me. It's a "9" for sure, located with a COO marking on the inside of the handle, but too tiny to distinguish the shape of the loop. The left side of the brand marking around the pivot is worn away, unfortunately, but enough of it remains, including the entire model number ("5") to identify it. The tool has some box rot spots, which I did my best to reduce. See Pics 2, 3, and 4.

The 4-1/2" No. 85 dykes have a very crisp brand and model number marking on the inside of the handle, along with a very crisp "E" (1945) date code marking. Like the midget pliers, it has the tell-tale Vacuum-Grip handles, but it's not marked Vacuum-Grip. See Pic 5.

The 1/4" combination wrench with a golden hue is actually a necktie clasp. I don't know anything about it, but I suspect it's a complimentary gift item or a commemorative piece or something like that. The logo (50's into 60's/70's) is not my collecting era, but I definitely plan to wear it!

It's disappointing, but not surprising, that you're planning to wear the tie clasp, now that I've become a "tie guy." Pretty cool pickup, congrats! Not sure that I have enough S/O stuff to be justified, if I'd found it...

From 1920, the first tools they made, famously advertised as "5 do the work of 50" (in reference to the 5 handles times x the 10 different detachable sockets).

You may get interest here, but technically, sales are not allowed in this section, which is reserved for show and tell, research, and discussion. You should list it in the Classified section down below on the Garage Sale board. Not being a thread nanny - just FYI.

I picked up this Blue-Point Supreme flat chisel set in original leatherette roll-up at my double early bird flea market this morning.

Too much rust to make out the markings clearly, and I haven't really inspected it closely yet, but I suspect this is a late 1940's No. SC-50-K set, with S-812, -816, -820, -824, and -828 chisels, although that funky one is either something else or the S-824 has been modified.

I'll post more photos after cleanup tomorrow.

I think that set is from closer to around 1950. Here are some ignition set listings from ‘45 and ‘50. I did some checking for Len Jones.

You may want to re-calibrate whatever you told Len, because Snap-on/Blue-Point moved to that new logo that you're showing in the 1950 catalog between 1947 and 1948. My chisel set with the identical logo on the inside of the roll-up is on page 55 in Catalog S (1948). Link here. But I will check for date stamps tomorrow.

I mostly checked ‘45 logos because Len had earlier tools in a later roll. I was just seeing when they went away from that wartime logo. I have an Allen wrench set with similar style markings only marked Snap-on. I’m not sure when it was made but I assume sometime after ‘50. You are still the research king!

I don't know about that, but I did remember that it was a late 40's transition. I have my quibbles with some of the write-ups and conclusions on Collecting Snap-on, but the catalog section is amazing. I wish we had a multiple mfgrs' library set up like that. The way it's linked to the model number database is brilliant, and my favorite feature (after the magnifying lens). I am sure you already know this, but once you identify a tool in any catalog, if you go down to the list on the bottom and click on the model number, it will show you all the catalogs it ever appeared in. That will give you a range, so you can easily find out when a tool was first introduced, and when it was discontinued. Generally.

I started to build that on TA, but you can't even imagine how much work it is. You have to upload the catalogs page by page, then type in every model number on the page. I believe he had several people helping him create that library. I simply didn't/don't have time!!

As it turns out, the set is not quite complete. There are two (2) S-824's, first of all. And that odd chisel is not a flat chisel that has been modified, but an S-12 round nose cape chisel. So I am missing an S-820 and an S-812. But I am happy it's a good start. I've already got the midget chisel and punch set, so they'll look good together.

No date codes, by the way.

Love the old Blue-Point branding.

It seems that I had found a set quite some time back but the roll is too far gone to see how it was originally marked.
I found this 1944 marked 3/4” drive 1-1/4” lock on socket this morning.
