LXC,
I've heard it said, that the devil is in the details and you have covered them very nicely.
Well done

Royce

Thanks Royce. And with this post the devil is out my hair :bounce:

Nice attention to detail.
Looking forward to completed pics of Jeep.

Thanks boosted. I'm trying to borrow some rims and tires to get the last shoots of this thing before it sees the dirt again. Sadly these rims n tires are just.....well........sad. :lol_hitti

Nice routing of the winch power cables Cam. I like the tube idea.

You may want to convince the owner to either buy a roller fairlead for cable or switch over to synthetic rope as that cable will chew up that Hawse style fairlead in short order.

Looking forward to seeing the whole thing completed and polished up ready to be picked up.

I'll definitely bring that up with him about the rope. Because I had reconfigured how the winch mounted by turning it around and then moving the controller to the other side it had the cable on the wrong way. So yesterday all by my lonesome I pulled the cable off and rethreaded it. Let's just say that was oh so much fun one handed. Keeping it tight and bunched turned into an actual chore :(

Well like I said it's complete. Just needs a wash and outside pictures now. That'll be too tomorrow.

But since my last update the winch is 100%. The underhood disconnect is wired and mounted. I made some standoff blocks for the tow bar out of 3/4" thick 3"x4" aluminum. And I cut the diamond plate inserts for the steps that just need to be siliconed in. I was going to bolt them but the fit up is so tight I'm not worried about them coming loose. Besides I didn't take the time to layout the pattern symmetrical so a couple counter sunk screws would layout funny. So I think a little Dow Corning 732 should be just fine.

Really appreciate that SFT. Originally I bought a 1x4" piece of that plate to do a step on the top of the outside wings of the bumper. That way if someone had to stand on it to work on the engine it'd give them something to grip too. After I built the steps I then wanted to widow those wings the same way but I ended up just lazying out. I'll admit right no I'm pretty disappointed I didn't put another half day into that. Now if I just bolt them to the top it'll look ******. Maybe the next time she comes home for some more work I'll put the effort in.

All of it looks amazing Cam.:bowdown:

Once again thank you mike for the props but more importantly your input and guidance throughout this project. I owe ya one my friend.

Maybe when the day comes your boy decides he wants to drop in 700hp worth of Hemi goodness into his project instead of one of those silly factory looking LS swaps I can return the favor. ;) :lol_hitti

This is it guys, she goes home around 3 tomorrow. I went out for a long test drive this afternoon and ya know what. It drives exactly like a 20yr old jeep with 180k on the clock that just got a bunch of new parts bolted on'er. But at least the death wobble seems to be gone. It's no longer Mr Toads wild ride. But those tires are absolute garbage.

So here I am giving it a final wipe down and what stuck out like a sore thumb, the flipping license plate frame. Well off it came to get cleaned and heat treated. :spit:

Thank ya

Looks great. Needs more tire!

Definitely needs more cowbell huh, thnx Ben

What a transformation Cam. Jeep turned out freaking awesome.

Thanks for letting us tag along for the ride and learn from you.

I wish I'd had taken pictures before I started but at the time it was nothing more then the AC, lift and install the winch. But as always thank you and everyone for the compliments and as you so apply say, thanks for following along.

That it has storm and this forums wealth of knowledge certainly guided many of the solutions. And again I really do appreciate the positive feedback

Looks awesome Cam. Nice work man!

Thanks again Larry.

Looks great bud. I think that rear tire carrier setup is the real highlight here. You kept it tight and slick, which is a stark contrast to what's out there for sale in the aftermarket.

So awesome  Everything ties together really nicely. I agree that tire carrier is miles above anything offered in the commercial aftermarket scene

Once thank ya both. I'm really happy with the carrier. I must admit other then just giving Jeep's the once over I've not paid attention to any of the details until I got into this project. I was a K5 guy for about 10yrs so that's where my heart is ;)

But I started looking into them and the really nice ones were pricy. And after seeing where the short comings are to mitigate flex would now stay clear of the cheap ones.

Looks great! Now it just needs a 6.2L and some 37" tires.........if we only knew a guy!

 B and no doubt, if we only knew a guy :bounce:

Very impressive work.
Your customer should be very happy.
Maybe it will motivate him to get some new tires.

Thanks again boosted. He and the wife were stoked! Plus yesterday just happened to be his birthday so he was grinning ear to ear. They both had their favorite parts. Turns out he'd had that winch for 15yrs and never installed it so finally he can potentially try to go places he used to shy away from. Hers was the tire rack so she could easily get stuff in and out of the back and it was secured. We spent a couple minutes hooking it up to the tow rig and off it went.

Now for the down side. I had piled up the old rims/tires and all the other parts for them to haul off. Ya well all that got left behind. And I'll get to deal with more bottom feeders selling it :headscrat

The upside is they bought a vacation rental at some fancy smancy golf course in Palm Springs so they want us to go use it for a couple weeks. It sounds like a really cool joint, now if I only played golf :spit:
