I have a few. Here's the biggest. Well, it was the biggest til I got a crown top radial arm saw with cabinet base this morning. I don't have pictures of the saw yet. The last picture is the beginnings of a crown top badge I made.

Crown top wall cabinet! Nice shape as well!

Slightly different version. Not as nice on the outside but the inside cleaned up nicely and I leave it open anyway. Pictures from just after hanging it. Not quite as tidy now.

Excited to have found really clean examples of each of these for my little oil can collection. Seemed appropriate for this thread. 604287917dff1ccba0f19a888cb37851.jpg

I picked up some practically new crown top today. The 8 inch grinder is fairly substantial. I just wanted the lamp, which will go on my Delta sander. You can't really see the crown on the lamp so I'll get another pic.

Came with a shipping receipt from 1960... 2 bucks to deliver from Denver to Estes Park.

Anyone know what this might have been used for?

Openings are 1-1/8", 1", 5/8" and about a 3/8" square opening.

Your pic of the gas welder wrench made me take a second look. When I first look at it I saw the blue portion of the pic as raised and the wrench as recessed. One of those trick pics.

Not mine and no affiliation but someone from GJ should go get this Craftsman wall type tool cabinet. I paid $50 for mine and it was not nearly as nice as this one appears to be.

Vintage Craftsman Tool Cabinet - $60 (South Milwaukee)

Vintage Craftsman Tool Cabinet. Rare. I don't believe it was ever used. Some rust on bottom, but very good condition for age.
Heck, that is a smoking deal for someone! Still has the tag and looks nearly minty! o_O Someone is going to ****!

721B0543-3BA7-4D26-BD39-A0F83BC2EDC4.jpegI picked up this rough machinist box, missing a latch and the front panel, a few months ago for $5. Yesterday, I pulled the drawers and drilled out the rivets on the remaining latches, scrubbed the musty dirt, and banged out the worst of the dents. There are two tears (right & left corners) in the sheet metal, along the bottom line of the too tray, where I assume stresses focused from abuse. Interesting how it received both the red and black paint after losing the right latch and the owner-added padlock hasp on the lid.27275833-0C51-41C5-BBC7-2240B42561DD.jpeg
I was pleased with the condition of the top handle under three layers of paint. 6EBFDB4F-9633-45C0-9BBD-A0E9724C1ACE.jpegI’m 90% sure I’ll drill out the rivets attaching the hinge and folding lid prop, which will make further straightening and painting easier. One rivet is loose in the wobbly hinge anyway.
I’ll clean up the drawers and patch over the holes, see about some replacement latches. Also considering dressing it up with four corner reinforcements/feet on the bottom (the two front feet will have to be modified to allow drawer clearance).
Then choose a paint. I have hammered silver, but I’m also considering flat olive drab, as I will likely move my firearm-maintenance gear into this from a plastic tacklebox. And thinking about spraying interiors of too tray and drawers with truck bed liner. Anyone do that? I’ve never used it. If it builds too thickly or unevenly, I wouldn’t like the result.

I've almost bought a new one a couple times but I just keep using it.

Mostly for sheet metal.

Was perusing CL one morning before heading out to work, and came across an ad for a pawn shop not far from the shop. Scrolling through the photos, my eyes latched onto this beauty. Did a quick check of the clock and figured by leaving in the next few minutes, I'd have enough time to stop by and pick it up. So I did and I did.
3/4" drive socket set
Mix of -v- and =v=
Sockets from 7/8 - 2"
3/4 male to 1/2 female adapter
8 1/2" and 16" extensions
Sliding T-handle
Looks like it has never been used.20211120_113108.jpg20211120_113125.jpg20211120_125149.jpg

I finally got back to this project after a year of it sitting behind other projects, lol. I tried a stick weld repair on the tears, which didn’t do much good. 5C7B70D2-CEA8-494C-8007-A3538A63ECA2.jpeg5577CC1C-1F86-4A0E-B146-3D92FC97213F.jpegThen I cut some scrap and riveted it to reinforce the front corners. 6199430B-0D32-4FAE-9C5D-6F6029BDEFEB.jpeg8839BF3E-2A08-4811-84AF-319CCCB1B32A.jpegAfter that, most of the rest of the plan went smoothly. 836D88C6-6EB7-42CE-A863-F93339C71B44.jpegStill have to source/make three pulls for the drawers and a front panel to hold them in. AFC99FEE-2EA6-41A4-B1C2-6FF674AEAAE4.jpegThis box will be for gun cleaning.
