very interesting thing happened earlier this evening I thought I should pass along:

I recently acquired a Thorsen socket set in which one socket was a different brand. I am of course compelled to make it right, so I have been searching for one Thorsen 3/8" drive 9/16" 12-point deep-well.
Earlier this evening I was looking at Thorsen "new listings" and find a set of four brand new NOS Thorsen 3/8" drive 9/16" six-point deep-well sockets for $13.95 including shipping OBO.

Any new updates on the Felo torx? I'm still trading messages with them. The dollar risk is low and I'm in no hurry. They said they would send a new package. I asked if I would get a new tracking number, haven't heard back yet. Messages are going back and forth more slowly as this goes on. At first they would respond within an hour, then hours, then a day, not it's days.

Tracking still shows nothing. I'm waiting till day 44 and then filing an eBay claim since I don't need them right away.

I would have been okay with it if they had canceled the order and said "sorry, it was a price mistake, we can't sell it for the cheap."

This whole claiming it was shipped when it hasn't is what gets me.

That's me basically. If the guy said, it was a mistake and I'm not going to honor the price, I would be mildly disappointed but big deal. But they want to play this charade of lost package so I'm going to play. I'm being polite but pestering them.

Ebay is pretty sketchy once you peek behind the curtain. They do all sorts of things like reportedly limit sales on certain items if you are not a major retailer. It sounds tin foil hat but there is evidence including messages from an ebay employee.

Checked my tracking when I woke up this morning and the Felo torx drivers are on their way! Dropped off at the USPS facility on the morning of the 28th, 17 days after they said they had shipped....

I would open a dialog with the seller on those and ask to return them or for a partial refund.
This subject came up a short while back, and I noted that there are a LOT of Ebay sellers who just simply are NOT "tool people" - they're completely oblivious to the fact that owner marks/engravings/grind marks have any bearing on the value (or desirability) of a tool.
When you look at their "see other items" listings and it's all Hummel figurines, baby clothes, and other dust-collector knick-knacks, you know you're usually dealing with a seller who's NOT real well-versed in tool values.
