^ I would guess the Armstrong ratchet is the "black oxide" finish, like my 4749BL Proto - just black instead of chrome.
Yeah, I listed that 77JC Thorsen above. looks a little rough, but it's dirt cheap - can't really complain too much. Don't think I need four of them, though.
Where's the reverse selector on that Blackhawk model? That is an odd one for sure.
I'm skipping over a lot of ratchets that are priced on the cheap because they look beat to hell or they're engraved - there have been a mess of S-K 45170 and 42470 models listed the last few days for lowball prices, but most of them looked hammered or they'd been marked with an engraver.

I am seriously thinking the change in the way Ebay is posting "sold" prices is affecting the asking prices on socket sets. Sets that were being listed for $35-$40 four months ago are now being listed with starting bids of $60, $70 and up. Only in Weimar Germany did the inflation rates rise that fast.

The only thing preventing the drive head from swinging around is the friction fit of the straight pin holding the drive head to the yoke on the end of the handle. I would imagine that after extended use, should the pin loosen up in the bore, the drive head would swing freely and become more of a nuisance than anything else. This one is still in good condition and remains in position.
Because the Indestro model 2736 has a detent ball which holds the head in a fixed position, it would be my first choice of those listed above.



Note that the Truecraft and Bonney models listed above also appear to employ the same type of design as the Indestro; using notches on the end of the drive head and a detent ball in the end of the handle. I am not familiar with the other models and am unable to see in the photographs if there is any provision designed into them (other than the friction fit of the pin) which retains the drive head in a fixed position.
