I will pick up any quality socket set- 1/4,3/8,1/2- if it is at a decent price. And if someone sees something in that pic they would like a better shot of, just let me know.

Super clean. I know they're not all NOS, even though they all look NOS. Whatever he is doing to spruce them up, man, it's working. I prefer the used patina look, just because I've always been that way, and because it's really hard to make most recovered boxes look NOS (they are usually the most beat up and box stained, with partial decals) to match, but I admire a polished set when I see it.I may have a lot of sets CRTDI, but yours are all beautiful...……..
I had the exact same but totally opposite problem with the PENENS set I showed on page 7, post linked here. We had a fantastic 1950 PENENS Fleet Quality Tools catalog in the FREE Tools Archive library to refer to, but my set is straight up PENENS proper, no Fleet or Challenger sub-branding. I used the sets shown in the 1950 PENENS Fleet catalog as a guide to contents, but I had to find examples of individual PENENS proper (no sub-branding) tools shown on the internet (eBay, WorthPoint, etsy, etc) just to figure out the danged part numbers on the missing pieces. They are not the same!My lone late 40s to early 50s ? Fleet set... [ ]...The biggest problem with finding the correct pieces, is that none of them are actually marked as Fleet. They are all marked with a P- prefix and model number only.
Dan, a couple of manufacturers used boxes like that. Here's a sampling for you to compare. Top is postwar Plomb pebble (red), Next down is wartime Randolph Tool -RTEC- (green), bottom is New Britain with partial label in tact (black). I don't know who was making them for who...
