Up for sale is my uncommon Craftsman 5198 vise. I bought and restored this vise a few years ago and now it is time to pass it on. I don’t know how to price this vise so I am asking for offers of $250 or more from interested buyers and I will let the market determine the fair value. I will be accepting offers via private message for the next 10 days.

Shipping this vise will be a challenge. It is a hefty vise at around 100 lbs or so. It is 21 inches long, 11.5 inches tall, and 10 inches wide at the base. The buyer will be responsible for the cost of any shipment, but I will work with the buyer to find the most sensible delivery approach. I am certainly willing to drive a few hours as well.

I’ve enjoyed having it in my workshop but I never bolted it down or used it. I described its restoration in this thread that has a lot of useful information about it:

After reading comments in the "Vises" thread it is clear that many contributors whose opinions I respect believe that this approach is a bad idea.

Based on that I am not proceeding with this approach so please consider this posting closed.
